Description
Raphael Walt is a character in the anime My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, where he first appears under the name Sirius Dieke, the student council president at the Academy. He is a mage from the Kingdom of Sorcier whose true identity is that of the illegitimate son of a marquis and a maid.

His background is shaped by tragedy. The marquis's wife, seeking to bring her deceased son Sirius Dieke back to life, used dark magic and arranged for Raphael's mother to be sacrificed so that Sirius's soul could be revived. After losing his mother, Raphael was made to grow up pretending to be Sirius, living under that assumed identity. He carried a deep grudge toward the marquis's wife, influenced in part by words he remembered from his mother, and he was burdened by the dark magic that had been connected to him through the ritual.

In his role as Sirius Dieke, he appears as a refined and capable second-year student who serves as student council president. In the original game world of Fortune Lover, he is a side character and hidden antagonist connected to dark magic. On the surface, Sirius seems professional, courteous, and willing to help anyone, expressing no prejudice even toward commoners such as Maria Campbell. Beneath that composed exterior, however, he conceals hatred and bitterness stemming from his tragic past and the curse placed upon him. His darker nature makes him a danger to Catarina Claes and Maria during the events of the story, yet his conduct is not entirely cruel; while Maria is held captive, he treats her with a degree of care, providing her proper meals and never harming her.

His early behavior is motivated by the lingering influence of the deceased Sirius, the dark magic inside him, and a desire for revenge against the marquis's wife who destroyed his family. After Catarina reaches out to him with genuine kindness and helps free him from the hold of his past, his motivations change. He comes to deeply regret the actions he took as Sirius and shifts toward seeking atonement, wanting to make amends and live honestly under his true name.

Following his redemption, Raphael Walt becomes a loyal and soft-spoken young man who serves the Ministry of Magic as the vice-head of its Magic Tools Laboratory, also referred to as the Department of Magic. In this position he later welcomes Catarina and her friends for a tour of the facility. In the sequel game Fortune Lover II, he is regarded as a capture target. His most important relationship is with Catarina Claes, whom he sees as the reason he was given a renewed life and a second chance. His connection to Maria Campbell ties him to his past as an antagonist, while the marquis's wife and the true Sirius Dieke define the painful circumstances he was forced into from childhood.

His development follows a path from victim to antagonist to redeemed figure. Raised as a vessel for another person's soul and consumed by resentment, he becomes a threat to others while still displaying traces of his better nature. Catarina's compassion helps break the influence of his past, leading him to abandon the Sirius identity, express regret for his misdeeds, and dedicate himself to productive work within the Ministry of Magic.

Notably, Raphael possesses dark magic, a rare and feared power closely tied to the events that shaped his life. His magical ability is considerable enough that, within the hidden route of the original game, he represents a serious threat to both Catarina and the heroine. His ability to convincingly maintain the public persona of Sirius Dieke for years also reflects his intelligence, self-control, and capacity for deception, traits that contrast with the kindness he displays once he is able to live as himself.
