Description
Lotarus is a supporting character in the second season of the anime series Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows. She is a member of the Legion, a group of powerful beings who act as judges for humanity, and is later revealed to be one of the seven shadow dragons residing in the castle in the sky. Her true form is a white dragon with pink wings, a shape she can also manifest when summoning her shadow. She possesses the ability to create barriers and can reawaken the shadows of others, as seen when she confronts General Logi and reignites his shadow Odin. Her personality is calm and collected, yet she carries out her role as a judge with a sense of duty, testing the worthiness of the people she encounters. Despite her initial antagonism, she later gains a degree of freedom to re‑judge the world after her ordeal with Logi. Her interactions include a curious encounter with Bouquet, during which she uses the alias Lota and subjects Bouquet to a dreamlike test involving enchanted butterflies that cause visions. Lotarus plays a key role in presenting the Dragon Scale tests to the main characters, acting as one of the trial‑givers that challenge Shu and his friends. Her development moves from a detached judge to a figure who engages more closely with the human world, though she remains aligned with the celestial dragons throughout the story. Her notable abilities include dragon‑like combat skills, barrier creation, dream manipulation, and the power to awaken dormant shadows.
