Description
BanchoLeomon is a powerful Mega-level Digimon who serves as the partner of Spencer Damon, the father of the main protagonist Marcus Damon. Spencer first encountered BanchoLeomon while searching for King Drasil, the god of the Digital World. The two engaged in a battle that mirrored the relationship between Marcus and his own partner Agumon, where fighting became a form of communication and bonding. Through this conflict, they became close friends and partners.
The title Bancho is a prestigious and rare designation in the Digital World, granted only to Digimon who have emerged victorious from countless battles against fierce champions without their spirit ever being broken. In the recorded history of the Digital World, only five Digimon have been confirmed to possess this title. BanchoLeomon lives faithfully only by the concept of justice that he personally trusts. If anything becomes an obstacle to that justice, he will see it as evil, even if that being is a Royal Knight or a Celestial Digimon. His appearance is modeled after a Bancho, a Japanese juvenile delinquent leader, featuring a lion-like humanoid form with an orange mane, a white lion's mane, a visor cap, and a traditional gakuran school uniform worn over his shoulders as a cape. The gakuran is endowed with a defensive function that negates 89.9 percent of opponents' physical strikes. He also wields a cherished tanto dagger named Otokodama, which means mans soul.
In the story, BanchoLeomon first appears before the DATS members when he single-handedly destroys an entire group of Gizumon XT sent by the villain Akihiro Kurata. Recognizing that the young heroes lack the necessary power to face the threats ahead, he takes on the role of a harsh but effective mentor. He trains Marcus, Thomas, and Yoshino on how to master their inner DNA and unlock their Digimon's Mega forms. This training pushes them to their limits and forces them to confront their weaknesses. Later, he appears in the real world to advise Marcus and Agumon about the GeoGrey Sword and its role in unlocking ShineGreymons Burst Mode.
BanchoLeomon shares a profound and tragic bond with Spencer Damon. When Kurata first attacked the Digital World, Spencer was imprisoned. After Spencer bet his life that such an attack would not happen again, BanchoLeomon stood up for him, and King Drasil granted Spencer another chance. When the Royal Knights surrounded Spencer to execute him, BanchoLeomon intervened and punched Spencer himself. In that moment, part of Spencers soul was transferred into BanchoLeomon, while King Drasil took possession of Spencers body. For years, BanchoLeomon carried his partner's soul within himself, hiding this secret from the world.

When the boundaries between the real world and the Digital World begin to collapse due to Kuratas attack, BanchoLeomon releases the DNA of Spencer within himself to slow the collision, freezing himself in a crystalline substance to hold the two worlds apart. After being freed by the Royal Knight Craniamon, he confronts Marcus at King Drasils lair and reveals the full truth of his connection to Spencer. In the final battle, with King Drasil possessing Spencers body, BanchoLeomon sacrifices his own life to allow ShineGreymon to defeat the corrupted god.
