Description
Alexander the Great is a character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters anime, depicted as a version of the historical conqueror whose story is intertwined with the mystical artifacts of the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe. In this narrative, he was once a powerful king of Macedonia who conquered vast territories, including Egypt, where he came into possession of the Millennium Ring. The Ring's dark influence corrupted him, fueling an insatiable desire for even greater power, which led him to a pyramid in the Indian jungle where a force capable of ruling the world was sealed away by the guardian Shadi.

Alexander, accompanied by four loyal vassals, successfully completed the five trials set before him to obtain the key to this ultimate power. However, when the final door would not open, his frustration and the lingering corruption of the Millennium Ring caused his soul to split into two separate beings. His evil half, Yami Alexander, was trapped within the pyramid, while his good half was cast into the Capsule Monster world. The key crumbled, his vassals lost their lives, and his empire collapsed.

Centuries later, the spirit of the evil Alexander possessed a descendant, Dr. Alex Brisbane, and manipulated Yugi Muto and his friends into re-entering the pyramid and completing the Capsule Monster trials anew, hoping to finally claim the power that eluded him. Throughout their journey, the good half of Alexander, appearing as a masked figure, secretly aided Yugi's group, giving Solomon Muto the Curse of Dragon capsule and guiding them through dangers. When the trials were completed, both the good and evil Alexanders were present, and Shadi declared that a final battle between Yugi and the dark Alexander would decide who was worthy of the prize.

As an antagonist, Yami Alexander is defined by his ruthless ambition and arrogance. He views others, including his own resurrected vassals, as mere tools to be used and discarded for his own gain. During the final battle, he does not hesitate to sacrifice the monsters of his vassals to empower his own creatures, the Seven-Armed Fiend and Reshef the Dark Being, showing no regard for their well-being. His primary motivation is the acquisition of absolute power, a goal that corrupted him in his past life and continues to drive his actions in the present.

Alexander possesses several notable abilities. Due to the influence of the Millennium Ring, he was able to bifurcate his own soul, creating separate good and evil entities. In combat, he wields a Duel Armor that allows him to physically merge with his most powerful Capsule Monster, Reshef the Dark Being, which notably features a throne on its head for him to command the battlefield. His strategic prowess is demonstrated through his control of the Seven-Armed Fiend, a monster whose multiple arms grant it a variety of powers including summoning armies of Skull Knight 2, regenerating fallen allies, erecting an impenetrable defense, unleashing powerful fireballs, and reading the minds of his opponents to predict their strategies. This clairvoyant ability is linked directly to Alexander's own mind, making him a nearly unbeatable foe. The heroes ultimately defeat him by using the labyrinthine nature of the Millennium Puzzle to overload this mind-reading ability, creating a distraction that leaves the Seven-Armed Fiend vulnerable. Following his defeat, the dark half is destroyed, and the good Alexander is finally able to pass on peacefully to the afterlife, accompanied by the spirits of his loyal vassals, who forgive him.
