Pete Zarustica
Description
Pete Zarustica is the professional alias of American voice actor Oliver Wyman, under which he has been credited for numerous roles in English dubs of anime series and films. His career in voice acting spans several decades, with active work in animation, television, and video games since at least 1994. Under the Zarustica name, he has become particularly well-known for his extensive contributions to long-running franchises such as Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
His early anime voice work included the role of Dr. Tohka in the 1994 series Iria: Zeiram the Animation. He gained prominence in the early 2000s with major roles in several popular series dubbed by 4Kids Entertainment. He voiced Morty Oyamada, Boris Tepes Dracula III, and Hang Zang-Ching in Shaman King, and provided the voice of Big the Cat for Sonic X. For the English adaptation of One Piece, he voiced the characters Jango and Onion.
Zarustica has a particularly notable history with the Pokémon anime. He began voicing characters for the series during the Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire era, where his most significant role was the recurring character Drew, a primary rival for the coordinator May. He also provided the voice for Ash's Glalie during this period. Following a change in the show's dubbing production, he was temporarily replaced in these roles. He later returned to the franchise years later, starting with the 2014 film Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, in which he voiced the antagonist Argus Steel.
