Description
Nagomi Yashi is a first-year high school student at the school where the story of Tsuyokiss Cool×Sweet takes place. She attends class 1-B and her birthday is February 28. She has a tall, slender build, standing 170 centimeters, with very long purple hair and pink eyes. Nagomi is a self-described loner who prefers to keep to herself and often acts independently. She possesses a tough, no-nonsense demeanor and is quick to speak her mind, sometimes coming across as blunt or irritable. This is reflected in her frequent quarrels with fellow student Kinu Kanisawa, whom she has nicknamed Kani, meaning crab, and notably refuses to use honorifics when addressing her upperclassman. Despite her prickly exterior, Nagomi is capable of being respectful and courteous to others, though she dislikes being called Nagomin by the student council president Erika Kiriya.
Nagomi has a debt of gratitude to the male protagonist Leo Tsushima, which motivates her to join the student council as a member. Her role in the story involves assisting with council duties and participating in school events, often clashing with the energetic Kinu while maintaining a cooler, more reserved presence. She is also deeply affected by the loss of her deceased father, and in one episode of the anime, she receives help from Sunao Konoe in dealing with that grief while practicing a play. This suggests a capacity for emotional vulnerability beneath her tough exterior.
Nagomi values personal freedom and responsibility, as indicated by her statement that there is a difference between freedom and being irresponsible. She is particular about her name and becomes irritated when it is mispronounced or mistaken, such as when she is called Coconut or Coconuts. At night, she is known to appear near a train station for unspecified reasons, adding a slightly mysterious element to her daily habits. Her notable abilities include a strong will, a tendency to work alone, and an unyielding attitude that makes her both a capable student council member and a challenging peer for those who cross her. Over the course of the series, she shows some development in opening up to others, though she remains fundamentally independent.
