Description
Kōtarō Araki is a student at Ichou Academy and a member of Junichiro Kagami's class. Initially a complete shut-in, he does not attend school at all and rarely leaves his room. He has long black hair, blue eyes, and wears a ribbon in his hair, which often leads others to mistake him for a girl. From a young age, Araki has had a strong fondness for cute things, including feminine clothing. During his third year of middle school, he attempted to go outside while dressed in girls' clothes, but the encounter ended with a classmate discovering his secret and being accidentally hospitalized, causing Araki to become deeply traumatized and withdraw from society entirely. He spends his time playing online role-playing games, where he controls a female avatar named Luce, the Ironclad Sister. Unbeknownst to him, his in-game partner is actually his new teacher, Kagami. Through their online interactions and a subsequent real-life confrontation arranged by Kagami, Araki is persuaded to face his fears. After a decisive match, he reveals his true identity and past to his classmates, who accept him. Following this, Araki returns to school regularly and, on the orders of the school's chairwoman, is permitted to wear the girls' uniform and is forbidden from wearing the boys' uniform. His key motivation is to overcome his fear of social judgment and be accepted for who he is. His relationship with Kagami is central to his development, as Kagami’s unorthodox methods help him reintegrate into society. Araki is a skilled gamer, particularly in strategy and role-playing games, and his experiences in virtual worlds give him a sharp tactical sense. Over the course of the story, he grows from a reclusive, anxious individual into a more confident student capable of interacting openly with his peers.
