Tailmon is a holy beast-type Digimon resembling a small cat, partnered with Hikari Yagami. She maintains her default Adult level form due to greater self-discipline compared to other partner Digimon, reverting to lower forms like Plotmon or Nyaromon only after significant energy expenditure, such as battles against powerful foes like Venom Vamdemon or Ordinemon. Her origins trace back to a Digitama created by Homeostasis's servants alongside other partner Digimon. An attack on the laboratory lost her Digitama and Digivice, forcing her to hatch alone in the Digital World. After evolving to Plotmon, she searched alone for her destined partner, instead encountering Vamdemon and becoming his servant. Under his abusive control—marked by daily beatings and a cross-shaped scar hidden under her glove—she grew mistrustful and repressed her past. During this period, she briefly aided Wizarmon, forging a bond he later repaid by helping her reunite with Hikari. In the Real World during Vamdemon's invasion, Tailmon observed Hikari while posing as a cat. Though tasked with identifying and eliminating the eighth Chosen Child, she could not harm Hikari. Their partnership confirmed when Wizarmon presented Hikari's Digivice, triggering its glow, restoring Tailmon's memories and shifting her loyalty. She sacrificed herself to protect Hikari from Vamdemon, an act leading to Wizarmon's death, activating Hikari's Crest of Light and enabling Tailmon's evolution to Angewomon to defeat Vamdemon. Across later adventures, Tailmon exhibits a mature, protective personality, rationalizing dangers and guiding other Digimon. In peaceful times, she displays a relaxed, playful side, particularly with Hikari and Patamon, possessing a teasing sense of humor and occasionally mocking defeated foes. Her abilities include "Neko Punch" (using elongated claws copied from Saber Leomon's data) and "Cat's Eye" (manipulating enemies with a piercing glare). Her Holy Ring, a symbol of her holy-species status, is critical to her power; its loss drastically weakens her. In *Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning*, Tailmon supports Hikari in Digimon-related activities while Hikari studies early childhood education. She participates in rescuing Lui Ohwada after his fall from Tokyo Tower and aids in confronting the giant Digi-Egg above it. During the battle against BigUkkomon, she digivolves to Angewomon alongside other partners to escort Lui for reconciliation. After the battle, her Digivice disappears alongside others globally, though the bond endures. By 2027, Tailmon remains Hikari's partner as Hikari becomes a kindergarten teacher and mother. She supports Hikari's plan to establish a kindergarten in the Digital World and agrees to serve as a counselor despite initial reservations about her aptitude with children.
