Description
Officer Satou, whose full name is Miwako Sato, is a police assistant inspector in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation First Division, where she works under Inspector Megure. Her father, Masayoshi Sato, was also a police officer, and his death in a traffic accident while he was transporting a bank robber to custody when she was in elementary school left a lasting mark on her and played a large part in her decision to become an officer. She later experienced another personal loss when Jinpei Matsuda, a colleague she had grown close to after he transferred to the First Division from the bomb disposal unit, died in an explosion. For a long time, these deaths made her cautious about letting people get too close.
She is tough, energetic, and dedicated to her work, with a strong sense of justice and a particular hatred for criminals who take lives for trivial reasons. She is considered one of the more dangerous members of the police, unafraid to confront violent suspects directly and usually winning physical struggles thanks to her skill in jujitsu and wrestling-based takedowns, which often end a fight in a single move.
