Atsuko Yuya is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on September 1, 1968, in Nagasaki, Japan. She is affiliated with the theatre company Gekidan Subaru and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1993. Yuya studied English literature at Kwassui Women's Junior College before moving to Tokyo for professional training at the Bungakuza Research Institute.
Yuya is widely recognized for her long-running role as Officer Miwako Sato in the anime series Case Closed, a part she has voiced since 1999 across the television series, numerous films, and video games. Her other notable anime roles include Aramis in B't X, Quinn in Ergo Proxy, Angelica Burns in Coyote Ragtime Show, Meisai Tsuruga in Katanagatari, Jackie Tristan in Bleach, and Yuki in Kita e. ~Diamond Dust Drops~, also known as Diamond Daydreams. In the original video animation (OVA) The Final Flight of the Osiris, part of The Animatrix series, she provided the voice for Jue. She also voiced the character Tsukumo in the 2001 OVA Ten Tokyo Warriors.
Beyond anime, Yuya has a substantial career in voice dubbing for live-action films and television series. She is the primary Japanese voice-dub artist for actresses Angelina Jolie and Natasha Henstridge. Her dubbing work for Jolie includes roles in films such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Wanted, Salt, and Changeling. For Natasha Henstridge, she has dubbed performances in Species, Species II, and Maximum Risk. Her dubbing repertoire also includes providing the Japanese voice for Diane Kruger in the National Treasure film series.
