Description
Misao Nanjo is a student at Momotsuki High School, assigned to class 1-D. She is an energetic girl whose defining trait is her deep love for animals. She regularly brings her pets to school, and her collection is extensive, including exotic creatures such as snakes and alligators. A distinctive quirk is her habit of giving her pets bland names that are simple wordplays on the animal’s natural name. Her pets often escape or go missing, and she frequently enlists the help of her classmate Tsurugi Inugami to track them down. Because the empty seats in her classroom are filled with her animals, the room takes on the atmosphere of a zoo, a fact that is noted as the series progresses.

Her personality combines boundless energy with a touch of diva-like behavior. She is outgoing and can be somewhat demanding of attention, particularly from Tsurugi, toward whom she directs much of her focus. Despite this, she is not malicious; her motivations center on her affection for animals and her desire to keep them close. Within the story, she serves as a supporting character whose antics contribute to the chaotic, gag-driven school life that defines the series. Her role is primarily comedic: her lost pets, the menagerie in her classroom, and her interactions with other characters provide recurring sources of humor.

Misao has no special abilities beyond her affinity for animals and her knack for accumulating unusual pets. There is little character development over the course of the series; she remains consistently defined by her animal obsession and her energetic, somewhat self-centered demeanor. Her blood type is AB, and she is a Virgo. She is visually distinctive with very long blonde hair and blue eyes. Her relationships are most notable with Tsurugi Inugami, whom she often pesters for help, and with her classmates in 1-D, who must coexist with her ever-present animal collection.
