Description
Rakkaru, known as Torga in the English dub, is a minor antagonist in the anime special Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy. He is a hen-like, chicken-inspired warrior who belongs to a band of demons that invaded and claimed Mount Paozu after the Son family abandoned their home there. Rakkaru operates as part of a small group alongside two other creatures, the frog-like Susha and the witch-like Mamba, and the three of them together scour the forest of the mountain looking for intruders. When the young protagonist Goku Jr. travels to Mount Paozu in search of the four-star Dragon Ball, Rakkaru and his companions encounter him and chase him through the woods until the group comes across their leader, Lord Yao.
In terms of personality, Rakkaru is an aggressive and menacing creature who takes clear pleasure in threatening his quarry; on one occasion he boasts that he will peck his victim's eyes out. His motivations are simple and straightforward: as one of the demons occupying Mount Paozu, he is hostile to outsiders and acts as a predator within the group's territory. Within the story he functions as one of the obstacles Goku Jr. faces during his journey, and his role remains that of a minor threat rather than a central figure. He is shown to be capable of flight, which allows him and his allies to pursue their targets across the forest terrain. In terms of development, Rakkaru does not undergo any meaningful change over the course of the story; he is introduced as part of the demon pack and ultimately retreats along with the other monsters when Goku Jr. transforms into a Super Saiyan and defeats Lord Yao. His key relationships are therefore limited to his fellow demons, whom he accompanies in hunting Goku Jr., and his brief adversarial contact with the protagonist, which ends with his flight from the battlefield.
