Kazuko Morinaka, a student with light brown hair and brown eyes, shared a close bond with Terumi Fujino, a cheerful idol whose abrupt suicide shattered her. Kazuko wrestled with the unexplained tragedy, unsettled by the media’s incessant spotlight and fans’ hollow grief. She publicly shielded Terumi’s friend, Shinya Shiraishi, from vitriolic crowds accusing him of culpability. During a later meeting, Shinya confided in Kazuko—Terumi’s colossal, spectral head had materialized above his home, hovering ominously. He pledged to summon her if it returned.
Answering his call, Kazuko arrived to find Shinya desperately stretching toward the balloon, only to watch helplessly as a noose from his own swollen, airborne head coiled around him, dragging him to his demise. Soon after, grotesque hanging balloons began targeting those around her. One by one, they seized and slaughtered her family, stripping her of all connections. A fleeting hope sparked when her brother briefly reappeared with supplies, but the balloons’ merciless siege continued unchecked, ultimately erasing nearly every soul in the town.
