Description
Jeong Wujin, whose original Japanese name is Tsubasa Andou, is a supporting character from the second year of middle school at Alice Academy. Known for his star-shaped marking beneath one of his eyes, he is a student from the Special Ability Class who later transfers to the Dangerous Ability Class. Born on July 15, his age ranges from 14 to 15 throughout the events of the story.
His personality is defined by a smirking, teasing nature and an easygoing demeanor that makes him popular among his peers. He is described as a protective senior who is kind, patient, and possesses a strong sense of justice, often acting impulsively to defend others from abuse or unfair treatment. Despite facing setbacks, such as being demoted from a three-star to a two-star rank for rebelling against a teacher, he remains optimistic and values freedom above being controlled by others. His caring attitude makes him one of the first older students to be kind to the protagonist, Mikan Sakura, who develops an innocent crush on him and views him as an ideal upperclassman.
Jeong Wujin possesses the Alice of Shadow Manipulation. This ability allows him to stop a person's movement by stepping on their shadow or to control them by writing commands on the shadow. He can also use shadows to pull the main body, open doors, and, if he writes a command on a shadow, force the target to perform that action even after he moves away.
His role in the story is primarily as a supportive ally and protective figure for the younger students, particularly Mikan. He often finds himself at odds with the more strict rules of the academy due to his protective instincts. He develops a romantic relationship with his childhood friend, Misaki Harada, whom he eventually confesses to after a series of dangerous events. He also shares a dynamic with Natsume Hyuuga, whom he sometimes teases over Mikan, and he is one of the few people capable of intervening when Natsume acts out.
Throughout his development, he faces significant challenges. After helping his juniors and defying the school's regulations, he is forcibly transferred from the Special Ability Class to the high-risk Dangerous Ability Class, where students are sent on perilous missions. During one such mission, he sustains severe injuries but is saved by Mikan's mother, Yuka Azumi. He later ventures into the mysterious region known as Z to find an antidote for a classmate and reunites with his younger sister, Hikari Andou, from whom he was separated when he entered the academy.
