Description
Gascogne Rheinau serves as the head of the Registry system aboard the battleship Nirvana, making her responsible for managing supplies and equipping the Dread fighter units with all necessary weaponry for combat against the Harvesters. She also holds the position of third-in-command of the Nirvana, ranking directly after Magno and BC. In addition to her duties within the ship, she pilots a delivery vessel to provide support during battles, demonstrating her willingness to put herself in dangerous situations to aid her comrades.

In terms of personality, Gascogne presents herself as a composed and steadying influence on her crew, who are prone to becoming overly excited or anxious during the intensity of battle. Her frequent reminder to "Smile, smile" serves as a trademark phrase that reflects her philosophy of maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. She acts as a big sister figure to much of the crew, offering sarcastic advice when needed, though her counsel is not always appreciated by its recipients. During quieter moments or when there are no Harvester encounters, she enjoys spending her free time playing poker with Hibiki Tokai, and the two share a bond where she often gives him advice. She shows a clear dislike for being called by the shortened nickname Gasco.

Her motivations are closely tied to her sense of responsibility toward the Nirvana and its crew. She takes her duties seriously enough to risk her own life in battle, as demonstrated in a critical incident during the series known as Second Stage. When the Nirvana became trapped in a desperate fight against a Harvester mothership, Gascogne used her delivery ship to fire missiles at a Copy-Nirvana unit that was crushing Barnette's Dread. Although the impact freed Barnette, the copy turned its attention to Gascogne, impaling her ship. The delivery vessel crashed into the mothership and burst into flames, being swallowed up in a way that seemed to make escape impossible.

Her survival from this presumed death represents a significant development for the character. Though it was assumed she did not survive the crash, she reappears during the final battle against Earth, piloting the very same Harvester mothership after having supposedly commandeered its systems. This return showcases her resilience and technical aptitude, transforming what could have been a tragic end into a testament to her resourcefulness.

One of her notable abilities is related to a personal keepsake, a metal straw she always keeps in her mouth. When she crushes this straw in her hand, it bends into a key shape. This item was a memento from her sister, giving it significant personal meaning beyond its practical transformation. In terms of combat support, she is skilled at piloting her delivery vessel and managing the logistics of weapon supply under fire, though her primary strength lies in her steady demeanor and her ability to keep others calm during crisis situations. Her physical appearance includes green hair that reaches her shoulders and brown eyes.
