Description
Maysa, also known by his alias Commander Beef, is a character who appears in Rockman.EXE Axess, the second season of the MegaMan NT Warrior anime. He originally served as a recurring figure in the first season before returning for a single episode in Axess. Maysa operates under a dual identity: in public he presents himself as a simple, eccentric fishmonger who peddles seafood from his bicycle and constantly urges others to eat fish and take their calcium. He feigns total ignorance of NetNavis, Net Battles, and PETs, often pretending not to understand basic terminology related to the cyber world. In reality, he is a highly skilled Net Agent and the leader of a small secret unit that includes the operatives Sal and Miyu. Under the guise of Commander Beef, he adopts a serious, no‑nonsense demeanor and coordinates efforts to combat net crime. His civilian persona is energetic, loud, and prone to lecturing young people about healthy habits, while his commander personality is calm, authoritative, and knowledgeable about the net.
Maysa’s primary motivation is to protect DenTech City from cyber threats, a goal he pursues through his undercover work. He also harbors a romantic interest in Ms. Mari, Lan Hikari’s teacher, which puts him in a friendly rivalry with the shopkeeper Higsby. His role in Axess is limited: he returns to town after a period away to investigate the Dark Chip dealer Gauss Magnus. When Gauss mistakenly kidnaps Ms. Mari, Maysa and his team work with Lan to rescue her, all while trying to preserve the secrecy of his Commander Beef identity. By this point Lan has already discovered the truth about Maysa, though he learns that he, Ms. Mari, and Higsby were the only ones who had been fooled by the disguise.
