Kyouta Kamikurata is a high school student and the vocalist of a band named T.L. Signal, which he forms with his friends Junichi and Shingo. He is a free-hearted teenager who dreams of becoming a professional rock musician, but he struggles with the fear of telling his parents that he would rather pursue music than attend college. His personality is earnest and passionate, especially when it comes to his music, and he often channels his emotions into his singing and harmonica playing. Kyouta is initially unaware of the supernatural war that has been raging for centuries among five factions. He begins to experience visions of mystical girls fighting, and these visions gradually pull him into a hidden conflict where he discovers that his childhood friend and girlfriend, Yoriko, is a central figure. His motivations are driven by a desire to protect Yoriko and to understand the strange events unfolding around him. As the story progresses, Kyouta becomes more deeply involved, and his music takes on a significant role, awakening latent psychic abilities in himself and others. His special power is known as Mindbreaker, a psychic ability that can influence or disrupt the minds of others. Kyouta's key relationships include Yoriko, his bandmates, and several of the mystical girls he encounters, such as Rumiko, Kiriko, and Asumi. His development is marked by a growing acceptance of his role in the conflict and a deepening commitment to using his music and powers to fight for those he cares about.
