Description
Setsuna Meiō, Sailor Pluto, guards the Door of Space-Time across all series iterations. Her sacred duty enforces three taboos: never abandoning her post, never permitting unauthorized time travel, and never stopping time—violating the last taboo results in her death. Originating from the Silver Millennium era, Queen Serenity assigned her this eternal watch. She is occasionally called the daughter of Chronos, the god of time, underscoring her temporal connection.

During the Black Moon arc, she sacrifices her life by stopping time to prevent the space-time continuum's destruction. Her story diverges between media: in the manga and *Sailor Moon Crystal*, Neo-Queen Serenity reincarnates her in the 20th century initially without past memories, where she lives as Setsuna Meiō, a university physics student. In the 90s anime, Neo-Queen Serenity allows her to leave her post without reincarnation, joining the Outer Sailor Guardians directly.

As a civilian, Setsuna integrates into human society. She forms close bonds with Haruka Tenō (Sailor Uranus), Michiru Kaiō (Sailor Neptune), and Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn), sharing a household and creating a familial unit. She develops a protective mentorship with Chibiusa (Small Lady), who affectionately nicknames her "Puu." Her personality is solemn and emotionally reserved, though she shows warmth towards Chibiusa and later Hotaru.

Sailor Pluto wields the Garnet Rod, commanding time and space to create portals, teleport, and erect barriers. Her attacks are "Dead Scream" and "Chronos Typhoon," with time manipulation as her defining ability. In the Infinity arc, her Garnet Orb is revealed as one of the three Talismans needed to summon the Holy Grail, confirming her role in pivotal cosmic events.

During the Stars arc and *Sailor Moon Cosmos*, Sailor Galaxia kills her defending the Solar System, stealing her Sailor Crystal. Sailor Moon later revives her alongside all fallen Sailor Guardians after defeating Chaos and restoring the galaxy. Her design evolves: the base Sailor Pluto uniform features a black sailor collar and maroon accents, while Super and Eternal forms incorporate star motifs and translucent elements. She possesses dark green hair, red eyes, and a notably taller stature than other Sailor Guardians.

Musicals introduce additional nuances like a more playful personality and explicit unrequited love for King Endymion, elements absent from main anime or manga continuities. Across all media, her narrative consistently emphasizes solitude, duty, and eventual integration into a chosen family, culminating in her role as a protector safeguarding multiple timelines.
