Description
Hiramatsu Kazuhiro is one of the three main protagonists in the story, forming one-third of the celebrated Kakenishi Golden Trio alongside his childhood friends Toshihiko Tanaka and Kenji Shiraishi. Physically, Kazuhiro stands at 170 centimeters tall and weighs 59 kilograms, with his birthday falling on April 26, 1975. His position on the field is as a right forward, and he wears the jersey number 9.
Kazuhiro’s entry into the Kakegawa High School soccer club is marked by significant personal conflict. Unlike his friend Toshi who continues to play, Kazuhiro is initially forced to quit soccer because his father insists he focus solely on his studies to become a respectable adult. This parental opposition creates a major obstacle for him. It is only through the encouragement of Toshi and a fellow student named Kazumi, combined with a heartfelt confrontation with his father, that he is allowed to return to the sport. His mother reveals that his father was also a soccer player in his youth, which helps soften his father’s stance. Ultimately, his father agrees to let him play under the strict condition that he maintains his academic grades.
In terms of personality, Kazuhiro is portrayed as a passionate and loyal friend who deeply values his bond with Toshi and Kenji. However, he has a notably impulsive and hot-headed side. He is known for being quick to defend others, particularly Kazumi, and is said to be ready to confront anyone who teases her without any discrimination, a trait that occasionally leads to comedic or tense situations. His relationship with Kazumi is complex; he harbors a crush on her, but their interactions frequently end in arguments, as he struggles to express his true feelings directly.
Within the narrative, Kazuhiro serves as a crucial technical asset to the Kakegawa High School team. He is distinguished by his exceptional ball control and dribbling skills, which are described as being at a national level. While he may not possess the sheer power of his friend Toshi, his technique is notably more accurate and deceptive. He is renowned throughout the series as a genius player, a reputation built almost entirely on his mastery of a unique and difficult set of techniques known as the Heel Shoots.
His signature abilities include the Heel Kick, the Double Heel Kick, and later, the miraculous Triple Heel Kick. These moves are executed in such a way that they create an optical illusion, making the ball appear to vanish or teleport past defenders and the goalkeeper. His technical prowess extends beyond these finishing moves; he regularly uses his dribbling to evade opponents before delivering accurate passes. He is also capable of scoring with a precise banana shot that frequently finds the back of the net. Additionally, he has a combination technique known as the Two Plato Shot, which he performs in tandem with Toshi.
Kazuhiro’s character development is closely tied to his growth as a player facing increasingly skilled opponents. When other teams eventually analyze and devise counter-strategies against his Double Heel Shoot, he is pushed to his limits. In a climactic moment of the series, he transcends his previous abilities by successfully performing the Triple Heel Shoot, a feat that re-establishes his status as an unstoppable force on the field and allows him to continually outwit his markers.
