Description
Meah is an android maid who serves as the caretaker for three sisters—Ai, Mai, and Mii—living in a mysterious mansion that travels through time and space. She is responsible for cooking, cleaning, and providing information to the group during their journey. At first glance, Meah appears emotionless and reserved, displaying a flat affect that aligns with her mechanical nature. However, as the story progresses, her hidden depth becomes apparent. She initially struggles with a cynical outlook, particularly regarding the necessity of leaving friends behind each time the mansion moves to a new time period. Over the course of the series, she undergoes significant character development, evolving from this cynicism into a more accepting and realistic perspective, learning to cope with the transient nature of their travels.
Meah’s primary motivation is to guide the sisters on their quest, which involves following the clues of a strange dandelion-like object called the Popotan. Later revelations show that she is working in coordination with the mysterious girl Shizuku and a man named Keith, indicating that her role is more integral to the overarching purpose of the journey than originally apparent. In the anime, Meah is depicted as a secondary protagonist, providing essential support to the main trio. In the radio drama continuation, her role is elevated to that of a primary protagonist, giving her greater narrative weight.
Her key relationships center on the three sisters: she serves them faithfully, though her android demeanor can make her seem distant. She also interacts with other characters such as the ferret-like pet Unagi and the drifter Chris, who becomes a temporary resident of the mansion. Meah’s android nature grants her capabilities beyond those of a normal human, though specific powers are not extensively detailed in the anime. She displays competence in her duties and a steady, reliable presence. As the story develops, Meah’s personality softens, and she becomes more emotionally engaged with those around her, marking a gradual but meaningful arc from an impassive machine to a character capable of genuine attachment and growth.
