Description
Haruto Yanagi originated as a test subject confined within a detention facility's VIP room. There, he endured experiments forcibly granting supernatural abilities, exacting physical sacrifices like blindness or limb loss. This trauma exposed him to humanity's deepest darkness, fundamentally shaping his worldview and motivations.
Emerging as the first Emperor (Koutei), he orchestrated the global catastrophe "Tasuketsu" – a daily system enforcing life-or-death decisions where the majority perished. His pursuit of an ideal world ultimately brought humanity to the brink of extinction. He wielded the "Right of Collection," a unique privilege allowing him to inherit the abilities of deceased Special Rights holders.
In Part 1, fueled by his past, Haruto executed Tasuketsu using combined privileges. Saneatsu Narita and allies ultimately killed him. Resurrected in Part 2 by the Queen (Maria Kisaragi) employing her "Right of Resurrection," he aligned with her objectives, advancing her plans while continuing his own vision. Seeking loyal subordinates, he used the "Right of Negotiation" to recruit Kai Kasai and Raion Ōno. Despite Raion's eventual exposure as a spy for Saneatsu's group, Haruto forged a genuine bond with him, connecting over their similar ages and shared histories of institutional suffering.
His family relationships include an older sister, Maria Kisaragi, and an older brother, Teppei Yoshii, both significantly influencing his actions and the broader narrative.
