Description
Odin, also written as Orjin, is a supporting character in the anime Red Baron. He is one half of the Viking Brothers, a self-proclaimed duo of robot fighters who appear as rivals within the world of Metal Fight competition. He fights alongside his partner Norman, and the pair carry the identity and manner of Norse warriors, a presentation reflected in their title, their coordinated battle style, and the design of their machines.

As a pilot, Odin commands a robot identified as Rei Espada, a machine whose name connects it to the sword. Within the Viking Brothers, Odin and Norman operate as a unit, combining their efforts and their machines to overwhelm their opposition. This team approach makes them a notable obstacle for Ken Kurenai and the Red Baron, and their encounter becomes the focus of a dedicated duel between the Viking Brothers and the Red Baron, in which they display both their combat ability and their pride.

Odin's initial motivation is that of a competitor seeking to prove the strength of the Viking Brothers and earn glory through combat. He and Norman carry themselves with a boastful, warrior-like confidence, emphasizing their identity as a pair rather than as individuals. As the series progresses, however, that competitive drive is redirected toward a larger threat. When the supercomputer Sigma emerges as the central menace, Odin and Norman cease to be simple rivals and become allies in the fight against it, shifting the focus of their story from personal glory to survival and shared resistance.

The defining relationship in Odin's life is with Norman, his constant partner and brother in arms. The two are inseparable, and their ability to fight as one is central to their effectiveness. In the later stages of the series, Odin is also drawn into a wider circle of fighters who oppose Sigma, including Dr. Marilyn, Dr. Asimov, and Hashmikov. In the closing arc, Odin is captured together with Norman, Marilyn, Asimov, and Hashmikov, and the five are used by Sigma and a fabricated copy of Ken as an energy source to sustain the computer's operations. When they are no longer useful, they are cast into the sea and left for dead. They are reached and rescued in time through the efforts of Isao Kumano and Dr. Freud, after which Odin joins the final push to rescue Sally Saeba and ensure the destruction of Sigma.

Odin's development is defined by this transformation from a self-promoting competitor into a reliable ally who stands alongside former enemies against a common threat. His notable abilities include his skill and experience as a Metal Fighter, his command of the sword-linked machine Rei Espada, and his close combat coordination with Norman. He also demonstrates considerable endurance in surviving the ordeal imposed on him by Sigma, emerging from it able to take part in the final battle.
