Rashōmaru, whose true identity is Tsukito, commands the Masked Demons, an imperialist criminal syndicate entrenched in Kyoto’s shadows. His childhood ended in bloodshed when a demon samurai slaughtered his parents and older brother, Ichibanboshi—though Rashōmaru survived by tragically taking his mother’s life to escape the same fate. Rescued and indoctrinated by the Masked Demons’ founder, he grew into a loyal enforcer, ascending to lead the clandestine group.

As commander, he arms Kyoto’s samurai with enchanted blades and ritual masks, using these artifacts to entrench the gang’s power. His crusade targets the substitute Shinsengumi, a conflict sharpened by the revelation that their leader, Ichibanboshi, is his resurrected brother. This familial betrayal fuels Rashōmaru’s vendetta, intertwining personal anguish with his orchestrated campaigns against shogunate loyalists.
