Description
Bō is a supporting character from the original anime television series. He is a physically huge man with a gentle disposition, distinguished by his flowing yellow hair and a beard. His eyes are often depicted as closed, and he commonly has a serene or simple-minded expression.
At the start of the story, Bō is one of eight condemned criminals sentenced to death. He is offered a chance at redemption by Heisuke Toudou, the sole survivor of a deadly attack on the Shinsengumi. The proposition is to abandon his former identity and take on the name and role of a slain captain of the Shinsengumi. Bō accepts this offer and assumes the identity of Sanosuke Harada, becoming a member of the substitute Shinsengumi formed to maintain order in Kyoto.
