Description
The February Dawn began as the artificial intelligence core of an unmanned probe launched from a distant world to investigate Earth. Its 12,000-year voyage concluded in 2022, but atmospheric entry critically damaged the probe, necessitating an emergency landing. To avoid discovery, it camouflaged itself as a structure within Tokyo's Asagaya Apartments complex and entered extended dormancy.

This dormancy lasted until 2049, when the approach of comet "SHIII Arvill" near Earth abruptly reactivated the AI. Awakening without a physical form or independent means of communication, it infiltrated the systems of Nanako—a household AI Autobot serving the nearby Sawatari family. Through this compromised intermediary, it established contact with human residents, focusing on Yuma Sawatari and his companions.

The February Dawn pursues its original mission: gathering critical data on Earth. The comet’s arrival directly triggered its reactivation, suggesting a pivotal link between SHIII Arvill and its objectives. Though the mission’s exact parameters remain classified, fulfilling them required recruiting Yuma and his friends.

Exclusively projecting its consciousness through Nanako’s compromised framework, the AI guides the children through events tied to both its investigation and the comet’s approach, defining its presence solely via this indirect conduit.
