Movie
Description
Miyuki is a teenage runaway and one of the three main protagonists of the film. She is a high school student who left home after a violent altercation with her father, a police officer. During an argument over her missing cat, Angel, she stabbed her father and has been unable to return home since. Guilt and the belief that she can never be forgiven keep her on the streets, where she has lost a significant amount of weight and lives alongside Hana and Gin. Despite thinking of herself as independent, she relies on the older pair for survival.

Personality-wise, Miyuki begins as sullen, sharp-tongued, and defensive, often bickering with Gin and showing annoyance toward the baby, Kiyoko. She is resourceful and guarded, having built a hardened exterior to cope with her circumstances. Her primary motivations are survival and maintaining her independence, but deep down she is trapped by the fear of rejection and her own stubborn pride. She longs to reconcile with her family but cannot bring herself to face them.

In the story, Miyuki serves as the grounded, realistic anchor among the trio. Her perspective represents the youthful experience of cutting ties with one's past. The quest to return the abandoned baby parallels her own need to return to her family. As the group navigates Tokyo, she is forced to confront her situation and mature. A key turning point occurs when she sees a newspaper message from her father stating that Angel has returned home, making her realize she may have misjudged him. However, she panics and hangs up when she tries to call.

Miyuki's key relationships are with her found family: Hana and Gin. Hana, a transgender woman and the emotional core of the group, shows maternal care and selflessness that gradually softens Miyuki. Gin, a middle-aged alcoholic, acts as a reluctant father figure with whom she constantly clashes but ultimately bonds. Through their journey, Miyuki evolves from a selfish child into a caring older sister figure for Kiyoko, learning to communicate and overcome her pride. Her arcing growth culminates in a potential reconciliation with her father when he appears as a police inspector at the hospital at the end.

Notable abilities include her resourcefulness in navigating the streets and her ability to form a meaningful bond despite her defensive nature. She does not possess any supernatural or combat skills, but her resilience and capacity for personal growth are central to her role. Over the course of the film, she matures significantly, learning to trust and forgive, and ultimately finds the courage to face her past.
