Description
Minami Shimabara is the eldest of the three Shimabara sisters and serves as the primary caretaker for her younger siblings, Ushio and Yuuhi, following the death of their parents and the disappearance of their older brother. At twenty-four years old, she has taken on the role of a surrogate mother, working multiple jobs including delivering newspapers and working as a hostess to support the family financially. She also owns and operates the Star Hole Company, a business that educates young people on managing media pressure and public attention as celebrities. This experience becomes particularly relevant when she and her sisters inherit the island kingdom of Barou and its guardian god, Neo Ranga, as it gives her a practical understanding of how to navigate the sudden spotlight and commercial opportunities that arise. Despite her tireless efforts to provide for her family, Minami is often perceived as cold and aloof. This demeanor stems partly from her protective instincts and the weight of her responsibilities, and partly from her constant preoccupation with money and financial stability. She tends to approach the extraordinary situation of having a giant god under her family's control with a pragmatic mindset, viewing Neo Ranga not only as a divine protector but also as a potential source of income. This pragmatic and sometimes calculating attitude can create tension with her sisters, who may have more idealistic or emotional responses to their newfound power. Minami's key relationships are centered on her sisters, whom she shields from the harshest realities of their situation while also trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and order in their lives. She strives to live a simple lifestyle and shuns material excess, which is a necessity given the family's poverty. Throughout the series, her development revolves around balancing her protective, financially driven nature with the emotional and supernatural demands of being a ruler of Barou and a keeper of Neo Ranga. Her notable abilities lie not in combat or unique powers but in her resilience, resourcefulness, and practical problem-solving, which allow her to manage both the mundane challenges of daily life and the extraordinary events brought by the giant god that follows them back to Tokyo.
