Description
Misha is an apprentice angel who appears to be a middle school student, though she is much older than her appearance suggests due to angels aging differently than humans. She has long pink hair and purple eyes. Her personality is overwhelmingly cheerful, hyperactive, and friendly, often to the point of being overly persistent or clumsy. She moves in next door to the main human character, Kotarou, and immediately latches onto him, greeting him with an enthusiastic request to go out. She attends the same school as him and constantly seeks his attention, which he initially finds bothersome.
Misha’s primary motivation is to become a full-fledged angel. In the anime, she is an angel-in-training whose mission is to spread happiness, though she often makes mistakes and creates chaotic situations. In the manga, her situation is more complex: she was once a close friend of Kotaroh, Kotarou’s great-uncle, who could see angels and demons. When Misha was forced to return to Heaven, Kotaroh, who was already isolated by his village due to his supernatural sight, committed suicide in despair. Heaven imprisoned Misha in thorns and stripped her of her status because her friendship indirectly contributed to his death. She was later freed and given a second chance to redeem herself by making Kotarou, the reincarnation of Kotaroh, happy. This explains why she wears black clothing as a sign of penitence, and why she is so determined to stay close to Kotarou.
Throughout the story, Misha serves as a central figure who brings both comedy and emotional depth. She is kind-hearted, forgiving, and sees the good in everyone. She becomes best friends with Shia, a demon who moves in with her, and never judges Shia for her nature. Misha’s intentions are always pure, but her lack of experience often leads to unintended trouble. Her relationship with Kotarou evolves from one-sided pursuit to a genuine bond, and in the manga she develops romantic feelings for him. Her older sister, Sasha, is a strict angel who frequently scolds her for her laid-back attitude.
Misha’s notable abilities include flight, the power to heal or help others in subtle ways, and an innate benevolence that allows her to brighten the lives of those around her. She also has a childlike speech pattern and an optimism that rarely wavers, despite her tragic past. Her development centers on learning responsibility, understanding the weight of her actions, and ultimately proving herself worthy of her angelic status.
