Description
The character known as Kyoshiro Mibu, also referred to as Occhi di oni Kyo, is a central figure whose identity is intrinsically linked to the legendary swordsman Demon Eyes Kyo. Kyoshiro is a remarkable swordsman and a member of the Mibu clan, a powerful and ancient race. He was created as the third Red Cross Knight, being made from the flesh and blood of the Former Crimson King, the original ruler of the Mibu. Destined to be a killer, he was ordered to assassinate the current Crimson King. Kyoshiro completed this task but was immediately consumed by immense regret over his actions. Fleeing his homeland of Mibu Land, he sought to abandon his life of violence and become a new person.

On his journey, Kyoshiro crossed paths with Demon Eyes Kyo. Initially, the two became allies. However, their alliance shattered when Kyo discovered that Sakuya, a woman deeply dear to Kyoshiro, had connections to the Former Crimson King. Kyo attempted to murder her, forcing Kyoshiro to defend her. This conflict culminated in an epic and brutal battle at the historic Battle of Sekigahara. Kyoshiro emerged victorious, defeating the fearsome Kyo. Unable to bring himself to kill his former ally, Kyoshiro instead used his power to seal Kyo's spirit into his own body, hiding Kyo's original body in an unknown location. Consequently, the two opposing souls came to inhabit a single form.

In the present timeline, Kyoshiro has fully embraced a peaceful life, working as an enthusiastic medicine peddler. He sincerely believes that one should cure people instead of killing them, presenting himself as a fun-loving and caring young man who wishes to help others. He often travels with a suspicious bounty hunter named Yuya and an eccentric spear-wielder named Benitora. Despite his gentle nature, he is not weak. If the lives of his loved ones are threatened, he will not hesitate to draw his sword and unleash his full, formidable power to protect them.

His most significant relationship is with Demon Eyes Kyo, with whom he shares a body. Their coexistence is a constant struggle, as Kyo's bloodthirsty personality often tries to overtake Kyoshiro's more docile consciousness when danger arises. He also shares a deep bond with Sakuya, a woman he loves and for whom he chose to flee the Mibu clan and abandon his life as an assassin. His past actions also tie him to Yuya; it is eventually revealed that Kyoshiro, in his former life as a killer, was responsible for murdering Yuya's brother, which creates a complex and fraught dynamic between them.

Throughout the story, Kyoshiro undergoes significant development. He begins as a man haunted by a bloody past, seeking redemption through a life of peace. He is forced to confront his past when Kyo takes control or when enemies from the Mibu clan emerge. Eventually, he even transfers his own spirit into Kyo's original body, and later becomes the new Crimson King, the ruler of the Mibu clan, all while continuing to deal with his complex relationship with Kyo.

Kyoshiro is an exceptionally powerful warrior, considered equal to, and in some ways superior to, Demon Eyes Kyo. He is a master of the Mumyo Jinpu Ryu sword style, having learned its techniques to protect Sakuya. His mastery is such that he can perform powerful techniques named after the Four Gods, such as Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu, and Seiryuu, each with unique offensive and defensive properties. One of his most unique abilities is Soul Transfer, which he used to seal Kyo's soul in his own body and can also use to move souls between different vessels. He also possesses the Sword of Yin, a technique that can negate any event that has happened to its target, effectively returning it to a former state, and is an expert user of Kinju, a type of magic used for sealing objects or beings.
