Description
Maki Yamashita is a seventeen-year-old high school student and a classmate of Hide Satou in the anime series Poyopoyo. She has violet hair and violet eyes. She lives with her family, which includes three older brothers, and her household runs a bakery. She owns a high-energy dog named Tsukudani, who becomes easily overexcited over small things and is difficult for her to control, often dragging her along during walks. Maki is a friendly and cheerful girl who is one of Hide's best friends, frequently spending time with him and their mutual friend Kouta Suzuki. She is deeply infatuated with Hide, though he remains unaware of her feelings for most of the series. Her primary motivation is to find opportunities to be close to him, and she often uses the pretext of walking Tsukudani to visit Hide or spend time with him. Despite her crush, she is a supportive and loyal friend to both Hide and Kouta. Maki has a warm disposition toward the Satou family's pet cat, Poyo, whom she finds adorable and gets along with easily. She does not undergo dramatic personal transformation over the course of the story, but her relationship with Hide shows subtle signs of potential mutual affection, with hints that Hide may also have feelings for her but is too shy to express them. Her notable abilities are not extraordinary: she is a typical teenage girl who is observant and caring, and she manages her lively dog with patience. She plays a supporting role in the series, adding a gentle romantic subplot and contributing to the slice-of-life atmosphere through her interactions with the main cast.
