TV-Series
Description
Miyabi Nagumo is a student of Class 2-A at Advanced Nurturing High School and serves as the Student Council President, having succeeded Manabu Horikita. He is a tall teenager with fair skin, light blond hair, and light blue or green eyes, often seen wearing the standard school uniform.
Nagumo rose from Class B to Class A during his first year and quickly established himself as a charismatic yet ruthless leader. He governs with an iron fist, using his position to eliminate students he deems incompetent, and is known for expelling or being involved in the expulsion of roughly seven out of twelve second-year students under his influence. He pushes the school toward an extreme form of meritocracy, where only proven ability matters, and takes pleasure in his own popularity and power.
Despite his outward confidence, Nagumo is deeply narcissistic and competitive, especially toward Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, whom he identifies as a genuine rival. He acknowledges that there are people better than him and does not hesitate to admit defeat when it is clearly presented. Nonetheless, he is driven by a desire to achieve real power and to defeat Ayanokoji to prove his own worth. He is also known for exploiting students in vulnerable situations for his own benefit, such as in the context of Honami Ichinose's storyline, where his actions force her character development.
Nagumo was involved in the creation of a bounty of twenty million private points placed on Ayanokoji by Acting Director Tsukishiro, aimed at expelling him before the second semester. This demonstrates his willingness to use institutional power and underhanded methods to achieve his goals. He is guarded in his true thoughts, often appearing distant and inscrutable to his classmates, while using his charm and appearance to manipulate those around him.
Within the fourth season, which adapts the second-year first-semester arc, Nagumo acts as the de facto leader of the second-year students and a major supporting character. His role centers on consolidating control over the school's meritocratic system and challenging Ayanokoji, setting the stage for ongoing conflict as the story progresses. His development in this arc underscores his ambition to reshape the school in his own image and his growing recognition of Ayanokoji as a formidable obstacle.
