Description
Kaoruko Jinno is a supporting character in the anime OniAi. She is a twenty-five-year-old woman who works as a professional editor. She is also an alumna of the St. Lilianna's Academy that the main characters attend. Physically, Kaoruko has a distinctive appearance characterized by her childish face despite her age, a gentle smile, and slightly drooping eyes. Her hair is maroon and cut to neck length, and she has brown eyes.

Kaoruko's personality is a mix of contrasting traits. On one hand, she can be quite emotional and is known for being a crybaby who is naturally absent-minded. However, this is balanced by a strong sense of professionalism and a high degree of responsibility when it comes to her work as an editor. She is a tolerant person, which allows her to manage her clients with patience, though she can also be pushed to her limits. Her primary motivation in the story is professional duty mixed with personal concern. As the editor for the protagonist, Akito, she becomes convinced that he has a serious sister complex. Consequently, she feels a strong obligation to correct this behavior, even going so far as to consider using seduction to break him of what she sees as an unhealthy obsession.

In the narrative, Kaoruko's role is primarily that of Akito's editor. She works with him under his pen name, Koichiro Shindo, and is tasked with managing his writing deadlines and productions. Her professional relationship with Akito is a key element. Although she acts as a responsible figure who keeps him on track, their interactions reveal a more nuanced dynamic. Akito trusts her as a capable editor, yet he also notes that she can be overly subjective in her judgments. Kaoruko is tolerant of Akito's behavior, allowing him to act somewhat spoiled around her, but she is also not afraid to cry or express her frustration when he drags his deadlines to the absolute limit. Her role extends into the main setting of the academy as well, as her concern for Akito's personal life often brings her into the orbit of the other characters, including his sister Akiko and the student council members.

Kaoruko does not possess any superhuman or combat abilities, as her character is grounded in a realistic, professional environment. Her notable ability lies in her professional competence as an editor. She is capable of evaluating literary work, offering constructive feedback, and managing the business side of a writer's career. Throughout the story, there is no significant dramatic development or change in her core character arc; she remains a consistent presence serving as a professional foil and occasional instigator for the protagonist's antics. Her key relationships are almost entirely defined by her work, especially her connection to Akito, whose behavior she both facilitates and attempts to correct.
