Megumi Takamoto

Megumi Takamoto is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with the agency Sigma Seven. She was born on October 3, 1985, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
Takamoto's path to becoming a voice actress was unconventional. She began auditioning for roles as early as junior high school and made her professional debut while still a university student, without having attended a dedicated voice training school. Her career was launched after she won the Grand Prix at the first Sigma Seven Public Audition in 2005. The following year, in April 2006, she made her debut in a leading role as Momoko Ichihara in the anime series Lovege Chu - Miracle Seiyū Hakusho. Shortly after her debut, she was also announced as the new voice for the character Chao Lingshen in the Negima! franchise, taking over the role from a previous actress.
Takamoto has built a varied career with numerous roles across anime, original video animations, and video games. Her filmography includes many of the titles specified. In the Hetalia franchise, she voices the character Seychelles, a role she has reprised in series such as Hetalia World Stars. She is the voice of Alma Jinnai in the series Jewelpet Twinkle: The Rainbow of Smiles Doki Doki!. Her role as Kayleigh Glanzelius is in the OVA Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru: Futari no Elder. Takamoto has had a long-standing association with the Negima! universe, voicing Chao Lingshen in multiple productions, including the OVAs Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba, Mahō Sensei Negima!: Mō Hitotsu no Sekai, and the film Mahō Sensei Negima! Anime Final. She also voices the character Saitohimea, also known as Himea Saito, in the anime series Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi, which is also known as A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives. Her debut role as Momoko Ichihara was in Lovege Chu - Miracle Seiyū Hakusho.
Beyond the roles listed, Takamoto is perhaps best known for voicing Winry Rockbell in the acclaimed 2009 anime series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Her other notable anime roles include Misaki Sawakura in White Album, Ushio Kazama in Sasameki Koto, Harumi Sakuraba in Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?, and Charlotte Belew in Unbreakable Machine-Doll.
In addition to her voice acting, Takamoto has contributed musically to several of her projects. She performed theme songs for series such as Lovege Chu - Miracle Seiyū Hakusho, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, and Sket Dance. Within the industry, she is known to be close friends with fellow voice actress Satomi Satō. Takamoto announced her marriage to a man outside of the entertainment industry in 2020. Her career has continued, with a recent role announced as Kyōko Misaki in the 2025 anime adaptation of Summer Pockets.
