TV-Series
Description
Mimori Unyū is a student at Kaimei High School who initially serves as the treasurer of the student council and later becomes its vice-president. She is the granddaughter of the head of the Unyū Group, a major conglomerate, and is the daughter of Rintarō Unyū. She is seventeen years old, stands 154 centimeters tall, and has long black hair and dark eyes. Her nickname among classmates is Mimorin.
Her personality is marked by a consistently cheerful disposition; she is almost always smiling and carries herself with a gentle, polite demeanor. She is notably the only main character in the series who consistently speaks using keigo, the formal and respectful form of Japanese. However, her upbringing in extreme wealth has given her a perspective on money that is markedly different from most people. She genuinely believes that money is a tool that can solve any problem, whether it is a personal dispute, a love confession, or a school competition. She does not see her lavish spending as showing off; she thinks it is perfectly normal to refurnish the girls' restrooms, use solid gold lottery sticks, or plate walls with gold. Despite this frivolity, she is kind-hearted and treats her classmates and juniors with warmth and respect.
Her motivation stems from her desire to help others in the most direct way she knows: through financial means. She is genuinely unaware that her approach can be overwhelming or out of touch. She is competent in her role as treasurer, capable of managing and allocating hidden funds for the student council, but this competence is often undermined by her impulsive desire to spend money on extravagant solutions. She lacks a clear sense of financial restraint because of her background.
Within the story, Mimori serves as a supporting character and a member of the Kaimei High School Student Council. Her role often places her in contrast to the Sket Dance club, a student-run help group that solves problems through effort, cleverness, and personal connection rather than money. While the student council and the Sket Dance club are frequently at odds, Mimori herself is not antagonistic. She is a source of comic relief due to her extreme wealth and her inability to understand why others cannot simply spend their way out of trouble.
Her key relationships are primarily with her fellow student council members, including the president and other officers. She works alongside them to maintain order in the school. She also interacts regularly with the members of the Sket Dance club, particularly Bossun, Himeko, and Switch. While she sometimes hires them for tasks or competes against them in school events, the relationship is generally cordial. Her wealth also makes her a target for individuals who wish to take advantage of her generosity.
In terms of development, Mimori remains largely static in her core traits throughout the series. Her wealth and her outlook on life do not undergo a dramatic change. However, her interactions with the Sket Dance club and other students occasionally expose her to perspectives that do not involve money, hinting at a slow, subtle recognition that human problems require more than financial solutions. She grows slightly more aware of the world outside her privileged bubble, but her fundamental personality remains consistent.
Her notable ability is her financial acumen when it comes to managing the student council's budget, though this is paired with a reckless disregard for normal spending limits. She is also physically unremarkable in terms of combat or athletic skill, relying on her wealth and her polite demeanor to navigate situations. Her unwavering cheerfulness and her inability to read the atmosphere are themselves defining traits that shape how she interacts with the world around her.
