Description
Momoko Ichihara trains as a voice actress at Tokyo's Lambda Eight (Λ8) school. She carries a small stuffed rabbit, Usamaru-san, often conversing with it publicly. Her initial drive to enter voice acting stems from a desire to meet her idol, voice actor Minato Ichinose, harboring dreams of marriage with him.
After relocating to Tokyo, she moves into a group home overseen by Runa Narita, encountering anime artist Atari Maeda there. Her relationship with Atari evolves significantly during her training. While initially focused on Minato, Momoko gradually develops romantic feelings for Atari, evidenced by her jealousy when fellow trainee Yurika Sasaki interacts with or dates him. Yurika reciprocates this jealousy due to Momoko's living proximity to Atari. A key moment arises when Runa identifies Momoko's feelings for Atari, though Momoko herself struggles to acknowledge them.
Professionally, Momoko faces financial hardship upon arrival, prompting her to find part-time work. Her early voice acting experiences include unexpected events like a surprise stage debut marred by an accident, demanding quick adaptation. During a promotional event for "Child Girls," where she supports Amane Ōhara as a background character, the performance falters. Momoko spontaneously improvises dialogue, saving the show and showcasing her quick thinking and vocal flexibility. Diligent practice helps her secure a main anime role, though external circumstances later void this opportunity. Her first official role as "Chiiko" in "Child Girls" involves studio nerves and repeated takes, but Minato's guidance helps her persevere.
Momoko possesses an exceptionally loud vocal volume, described as capable of causing minor earthquakes. Her journey navigates personal emotions while developing professional resilience and improvisational skills in the voice acting industry.
