Description
Mitsuri Kanroji holds the position of Love Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps. Her childhood displayed remarkable physical strength, lifting a 15-kilogram stone at just 13 months to help her pregnant mother. This innate power, coupled with her naturally pink-and-green hair and large appetite, caused societal rejection during her youth. Potential suitors rejected these traits as unladylike, leading to failed marriage proposals. At 17, she temporarily conformed by dying her hair black and hiding her strength, but abandoned this pretense before a finalized marriage, realizing lifelong deception was impossible. This experience drove her to join the Demon Slayer Corps specifically to find a husband stronger than herself, seeing the organization as a gathering of powerful individuals.

Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, became her mentor after she completed Final Selection within six months—an achievement he deemed outstanding. Under his training, she rigorously studied Flame Breathing but found it incompatible with her physiology and combat style. She consequently developed Love Breathing, a derivative style utilizing her exceptional flexibility and tailored to her unique whip-like Nichirin Sword. Her mastery earned her promotion to Hashira status.

Physically, Mitsuri is a 19-year-old with a voluptuous build, pale skin, and distinctive light pink fading to lime green hair styled in three thick braids, with shorter bangs framing her face. Her pale green eyes feature long lashes and small beauty marks beneath them. She wears a modified Demon Slayer uniform: a plum-tinted jacket left unbuttoned at the chest, the white haori gifted by Rengoku, a pleated mini-skirt replacing traditional hakama pants, lime-green striped thigh-high socks given by Obanai Iguro, and zōri sandals with pink straps. Pushing her limits against Upper Rank Four Hantengu's clone Zohakuten caused a Demon Slayer Mark to manifest near her clavicle—two opposing hearts with teardrop shapes.

Her personality embodies emotional expressiveness, passionate enthusiasm, and frequent internal compliments, aligning with her "Love Hashira" title. She displays shyness and flusters easily but maintains consistent kindness, particularly toward Obanai Iguro, sharing a profound bond with him. Despite her gentle demeanor, she exhibits unwavering ferocity against demons. Her compassion led her to accept Nezuko Kamado as human despite her demonic state, forming a sisterly relationship where Nezuko emulates her hairstyle. She also shares mentorship and culinary exchanges with Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira. A significant arc involves her overcoming insecurities about her differences through self-acceptance, encouraged by Shinobu and Obanai.

Mitsuri's combat abilities stem from an abnormal muscular constitution—her muscles are eight times denser than an average human's—requiring daily caloric intake equivalent to three sumo wrestlers. This grants immense strength, endurance, and durability, enabling her to withstand sound-based attacks from Upper Ranks and later tear off Muzan Kibutsuji's arm. Her flexibility allows acrobatic maneuvers and safe use of her whip-sword, while her speed and reflexes permit dodging and slicing lightning or sound waves. As a Hashira, she demonstrates masterful swordsmanship, particularly during the Swordsmith Village Arc where she eliminates multiple demons spawned by Upper Rank Five Gyokko and independently engages Zohakuten until sunrise.

Her unique Love Breathing technique features forms like First Form: Shivers of First Love, Second Form: Love Pangs, Third Form: Catlove Shower, Fifth Form: Swaying Love, Wildclaw, and Sixth Form: Cat-Legged Winds of Love—the latter two reflecting her fondness for cats. Her weapon, crafted by Swordsmith Village chief Tecchin Tecchikawahara, is an exceptionally long, thin, flexible blade resembling a whip, featuring a four-leaf clover handguard. Only her flexibility prevents self-injury during its deployment.

Key battles include her prolonged defense against Zohakuten in the Swordsmith Village, where awakening her Demon Slayer Mark equalized their combat. Later, within the Infinity Castle, she confronts Upper Rank Four Nakime alongside Obanai. During the final battle against Muzan, she suffers severe injuries including severed braids, ear damage, and ultimately the loss of both arms while ripping off the Demon King's limb. In her final moments with Obanai, she expresses a desire for reincarnation and marriage to him. This wish materializes in a later life where they reunite, marry, and establish a family.
