Description
Rafaga is a forest sprite warrior who appears as a supporting figure in the animated story of Chain Chronicle, set on the continent of Yggdra. He is the chief of the Thousand Rivers, one of the four forest sprite tribes, and is associated with the Spirit Island region where the sprite communities live. Physically, he is a male sprite with dark auburn hair and grey eyes, and he carries himself as an experienced frontline soldier.
As a tribal leader, Rafaga is committed to the resistance against the Black Army, the dark force that threatens the continent. He takes part in the wider effort to save the world by directly engaging the enemy in battle, and he frequently works alongside other representatives of the rebellion. When the volunteer forces seek allies among the different peoples of Yggdra, forest sprites such as Rafaga stand among those who answer the call, lending the strength of their tribe to the coalition.
His personality is that of a battle-loving, straightforward warrior. He speaks with confidence and a rough, boastful edge, and he visibly becomes more energized as a fight grows serious, often laughing when combat intensifies. His attitude reflects a lifelong devotion to fighting: rather than hesitating or waiting for orders, he prefers to charge forward and expects his comrades to follow his lead. Beneath this combative exterior lies the sense of duty of a chief who fights to protect his people and the world they share.
In combat, Rafaga is a frontline fighter who attacks enemies directly in front of him, dealing heavy damage and knocking them back to disrupt enemy formations. His performance adjusts to those around him: his movement speed rises when two or more magician allies are on the battlefield, while he takes reduced damage when two or more archer allies are present. This makes him a versatile vanguard who can close distance quickly with a magic-heavy party or hold the line more reliably alongside archers.
Over time, Rafaga remains a constant presence on the front lines even as the world around him changes. Later depictions of the character portray him as a veteran who has outlived many former comrades and rivals, yet continues to fight with undiminished passion and states his intention to keep fighting to the very end. His bond with the fairy Pirika is also emphasized, with her blessing said to awaken a strengthened form of the chieftain who still leads from the front.
