Mashiro Sagura is the shrine maiden of the Child of the Contract in the conflict-ridden world of Chaos Dragon. She is a young girl with big purple eyes and very long brown hair styled into two pigtails held by pink bands, with a low tail tied by a red ribbon; she wears a white shrine maiden outfit with pink accents and a short pink skirt. Soft-spoken and gentle, Mashiro cares deeply for those around her, including the Bounded One named Eiha, and works as a caregiver at an orphanage in Nil Kamui. Her primary motivation is her devotion to Ibuki, the crown prince of Nil Kamui, and she has lived her life anticipating the day she could be of use to him. When Ibuki is gravely wounded and makes a contract with the Red Dragon to gain power, the contract demands a life be offered as a sacrifice, and Mashiro willingly gives up her own life so that Ibuki can fulfill the pact and fight against the invading Kouran forces. Her death in the early part of the story serves as a catalyst for Ibuki’s transformation and his struggle to reclaim his country. She has no special combat abilities; her role is defined by her spiritual position and her selfless willingness to sacrifice herself for Ibuki’s cause.
