Description
Midori Mano is a supporting character in the anime Brigadoon. She is a teenage girl who appears to be about sixteen years old and is in the ninth grade at Yayoi Middle School. She is portrayed as a juvenile delinquent who frequently skips classes, carries a wooden sword for fights, and has been arrested multiple times. Despite her rebellious exterior, she has a soft inner heart. She comes from a family without a father, and her difficult upbringing leads her to feel a deep sense of kinship with Marin Asagi, the protagonist, who is an orphan. Midori temporarily takes care of Marin after Marin separates from her protector Melan. Because of her own experience with arrests, she is able to help Marin escape from a prison cell. Midori is described as a mysterious and cool character. She expresses the belief that people are unfairly judged as criminals simply for making mistakes, a sentiment that likely reflects her own experiences as well as Marin's predicament. Her notable abilities include practical street skills, such as lock-picking, and proficiency in fighting with a wooden sword. She does not possess any supernatural powers. Throughout her role in the story, she provides practical assistance and emotional understanding to Marin, and her background as a troubled youth with a compassionate core highlights themes of prejudice and redemption.
