Description
Matori is one of three humanoid servants summoned by the antagonist Yugi in this series. She is the only female member of the trio, which also includes Tsugaru and Hotsuma. She is physically distinguished by her black hair and the red marks on her face. Created by Yugi to help carry out her plans, Matori serves as a loyal and proactive enforcer throughout much of the story.
Matori possesses the ability to create guardian spirits from inanimate objects, a power similar to Yugi's own ability to turn objects into spirits. She uses this talent for both deception and combat. For example, she tricks several of the main characters into constructing a large spirit called Daidara Hoshi, and she creates a false version of Nobuyuki Masaki to manipulate events. During Yugi's assault on the Masaki shrine, Matori uses her abilities to sever the dimensional tunnel connecting Tenchi in Tokyo to the others in Okayama, preventing them from reuniting.
In terms of personality, Matori is calculating and ruthless. She is willing to use trickery to achieve her goals and does not hesitate to suggest lethal measures. Near the end of the series, Yugi assigns her the mission of kidnapping Sasami. Despite expressing a preference for simply killing Sasami and the others, Matori obediently carries out the order.
