Description
Count Collection is the primary antagonist from the anime Mon Colle Knights. Known in the Japanese version as Count Ludwig Presto Von Meinstein Collection, he is a young German aristocrat who serves as the leader of the Collection Team and a rival to Professor Ichiroubei Hiiragi. He was formerly a scientific colleague of Professor Hiiragi, and together they discovered the existence of the Sixgate World, also known as Mon World. Their partnership dissolved into a bitter rivalry when Count Collection chose to use their shared research for his own ambitious and selfish goals, seeking to gather the six magical Monster Items to rule both the human world and Mon World, while his former partner wished to use them to unite the worlds peacefully.

Personality-wise, Count Collection is defined by a flamboyant and eccentric nature. He is a classic sissy villain with an effeminate demeanor, known for his dramatic poses and an obsessive fondness for roses, almost never appearing without one. He is openly identified as a bishonen, a beautiful young man, and is frequently depicted with sparkling backgrounds that emphasize his theatrical and somewhat vain personality. Despite his genius-level intellect as a scientist, he often acts as an idiot, with his plans to capture Monster Items frequently failing due to his own hysterical behavior and lack of competence, making him a mostly harmless villain. His ambition to take over the world is undercut by his cowardly nature, a flaw that his strict butler and mentor, Tanaka, constantly tries to correct.

In the story, Count Collection acts as the main rival to the series' heroes, Mondo Ooya and Rokuna Hiiragi, who are known as the Mon Colle Knights. He travels to Mon World almost every episode with his two lackeys, Gluko and Batch, in a direct competition to find the Monster Items before the heroes can. His role is defined by this ongoing rivalry, though he is rarely a serious threat, often serving as a comedic foil to the protagonists. His key relationships are central to his character. He commands Gluko, his buxom and airheaded lackey who provides information from a book, and Batch, a tomboyish mechanic who pilots their vehicle, the Flyin' Lion. Despite being his underlings, they are arguably his only real friends. His dynamic with Tanaka, his tutor and butler who raised him since childhood, is based on punishment and discipline; Tanaka frequently forces Count Collection into painful back-breaking exercises meant to instill a more villainous and manly spirit, which only results in further comedy. His interaction with the Mon Colle Knights is mostly limited to standard villainous gloating, with one notable exception where he and Mondo were stranded on an island together, leading him to mistake Mondo for someone else and briefly develop a crush on him.

Count Collection shows very little in the way of genuine development, remaining a static comedic villain. However, his abilities are tied to the same Mon Colle Knight system used by the heroes. He possesses the power to summon and merge with monsters from Mon World, which he does using monster cards. His preferred methods include deploying machines like the Teddyarenaut to produce these cards and piloting his team's main vehicle, the Flyin' Lion. He is also capable of using attacks such as the Skeitso Beam in combat. Ultimately, his motivations are simple and consistent: to collect all six Monster Items and use their combined power to dominate both dimensions, a goal he pursues with great theatrical flair and very little success.
