Description
Marzio, also known by his alter ego Milord, is the Italian adaptation name for the character Mamoru Chiba who appears in the anime film Sailor Moon S: The Movie. In this story, he is a high school student who secretly takes on the masked identity of Milord, a mysterious figure who aids the Sailor Guardians in their battles. His background is rooted in a past life as Prince Endymion, the destined lover of Princess Serenity, who has been reincarnated in the present day. In the film, Marzio’s personality is calm, composed, and quietly protective. He displays a gentle and caring demeanor, especially toward Usagi Tsukino, the girl who is both his girlfriend and the reincarnation of Serenity, with whom he shares a deep romantic bond. His motivation in the movie is to stand by the Sailor Guardians and help them defend Earth from the threat of Princess Snow Kaguya, an ice entity who seeks to freeze the planet. Marzio’s role in the story is supportive rather than central; he appears alongside the other Guardians when they confront Kaguya and her Snow Dancers, using his abilities to assist in combat. His key relationships include his close connection with Usagi, who relies on his emotional support, and his more distant but collegial ties to the other Sailor Guardians. Development in the film is minimal, as his character remains consistent with his established traits from the series: steadfast, self-sacrificing, and devoted to protecting those he loves. Notable abilities include the power to throw sharp red roses as projectiles and the physical agility to fight alongside the Sailor Guardians. As Milord, he also possesses a heightened sense of when danger is near, instinctively appearing at critical moments. Despite not being the main focus of the film, Marzio/Milord serves as a reliable ally whose presence reinforces the themes of love and unity in the battle against evil.
