Description
Cyniclons Tarb, known in the original Japanese version as Tart Ikisatashi, is one of the three alien antagonists who arrive on Earth with the mission of reclaiming the planet for their people. He is the youngest member of this group, which is referred to as Cyniclons in some adaptations, and his name is derived from the word "brat" spelled backward, a reflection of his core personality traits.

Tarb is a small alien with a childlike appearance. He has medium-length brown hair that he typically wears in two pigtails and large, pointed ears that are characteristic of his race. His eyes are a distinctive golden color. His outfit consists of a red shirt, black shorts, and bandages wrapped around his legs, and he does not wear shoes. This visual design underscores his youthful and somewhat feral nature.

In terms of personality, Tarb is best described as rude, childish, and bratty. He is prone to throwing tantrums when things do not go his way and has a tendency to laugh out of genuine amusement, a more open expression of emotion compared to his more solemn or smirking comrades. He hates being called short or treated like a child, often resorting to name-calling and arguments, particularly with the main protagonist, Ichigo Momomiya. His energetic and curious demeanor has been noted as comparable to that of the Mew Mew Pudding Fong. Despite his villainous role, his immaturity makes him less directly threatening than his allies, and his actions are often driven by a desire for fun rather than pure malice.

The motivations of Tarb are rooted in the tragic history of his race. The Cyniclons originally lived on Earth, but after the planet became uninhabitable, they were forced to move to another world. This new planet was even worse, and his people were driven to live underground for thousands of years due to harsh environmental conditions. Upon finally returning to Earth, they found it dominated by humans, who they believe have stolen their birthright. This background fuels his mission to reclaim the planet, though his personal investment in the conflict evolves over time.

Within the story, Tarb serves as a recurring antagonist who creates Chimera Animas by fusing parasites with plants, over which he has a degree of control. His role in the plot becomes significantly more complex through his interactions with Pudding Fong. Early on, he kidnaps Pudding, but her unwavering cheerfulness and refusal to see him as an enemy disarms him. In a pivotal moment, he saves her from one of his own dangerous Chimera Animas, an act that she interprets as friendship, leading her to nickname him "Tar-Tar". Over the course of the series, Tarb develops a reluctant but genuine affection for Pudding. In the anime, he teleports her out of an underground cavern when she begins to run out of air, saving her life. Later, when Pudding is weak and about to fall, he catches her, admitting he no longer enjoys fighting. In the manga, this relationship is further solidified when Pudding kisses him goodbye and places a candy in his mouth as he prepares to leave Earth, with Tarb hinting that he might return to see her again.

Tarb's key relationships are primarily with his fellow aliens and Pudding. He is confirmed to be the brother of Pie Ikisatashi, and the third alien, Quiche, is his adoptive brother. He is known to get along better with Quiche than with the more serious Pie, as their personalities are more aligned in their sadistic and playful tendencies. His development throughout the series centers on his shift from a bratty, single-minded invader to a being capable of forming a meaningful emotional connection with a human, ultimately questioning the purpose of the conflict.

In terms of notable abilities, Tarb shares several powers with his kin. He is capable of flight and teleportation, and he can even steal the spirit of a human. His primary method of attack is using a click-clack toy as a weapon, with which he can perform special attacks. He also possesses the ability to control plants and create Chimera Animas from them, making him a unique threat among the alien invaders.
