TV-Series
Description
Mint Aizawa, also known as Mew Mint, is the second member of the Tokyo Mew Mew team to be introduced. She is the daughter of a wealthy and influential family, the Aizawa conglomerate, and grew up surrounded by affluence and social expectations. As a child, she enjoyed dancing, particularly ballet, and this interest remains a significant part of her life. Her DNA was merged with that of a blue lorikeet, granting her the ability to transform into a Mew Mew.

Initially, Mint appears spoiled, snobbish, lazy, and sarcastic, often looking down on others due to her privileged upbringing. She is not accustomed to common or ordinary things and prefers refined tastes, such as French food and afternoon tea. She has a habit of prioritizing her own routines, such as her daily tea ritual, even when she is supposed to be helping out at the team's base, Cafe Mew Mew. However, beneath this exterior lies a more vulnerable and empathetic person. She cares deeply about her friends, though she often struggles to express it openly. Her feelings are easily hurt, and she can be quite sensitive. She is also known for her strong sense of duty once she accepts her role as a Mew Mew.

Her primary motivation at the start is adjusting to her new life after being unexpectedly infused with animal DNA. Although initially shocked and unsure, she quickly accepts her responsibilities as a Mew Mew. Over time, her motivations shift from personal comfort to protecting her friends and the world, though she retains her refined and occasionally haughty demeanor. She is driven by a desire to prove herself and to live up to her own standards of what a proper lady should be.

In the story, Mint serves as the second Mew Mew to be recruited. Her introduction differs between the manga and anime, but in both, she becomes a key ally in battles against Chimera Animas and the alien threat. Her role within the team often involves using her grace and precision in combat, and she occasionally provides a critical perspective during conflicts. She tends to be bossy, especially toward the leader Ichigo Momomiya, but she respects the team's mission.

Her key relationships include a deep admiration for the older and more mature Mew Mew, Zakuro Fujiwara, whom she idolizes almost to the point of obsession. Zakuro frequently influences Mint's decisions and behavior. Mint's relationship with Ichigo is initially strained and filled with sarcastic remarks, but it gradually develops into a genuine, if often teasing, friendship. She is also very close to her pet dog, Mickey, for whom she shows genuine affection. Within her family, she has a distant but caring relationship with her older brother, Seiji Aizawa, who is often busy with business matters. Her parents are rarely home, and she is largely raised by her grandmother, which contributes to her independent yet sometimes lonely nature.

Mint shows clear character development throughout the series. She grows from a spoiled, self-centered girl into a more reliable and loyal friend and fighter. While she never entirely loses her snobbish or sarcastic edge, she learns to care for her teammates and to put the group's needs above her own comforts. Her experiences in battle and her interactions with the other Mew Mews help her mature and become more empathetic and considerate.

As Mew Mint, her abilities are tied to her blue lorikeet DNA. She can transform into a Mew form that grants her enhanced agility, grace, and the ability to fly using small wings that appear on her back. Her primary attack is called Ribbon Mint Echo, which she performs using a ribbon-like weapon. Her fighting style is elegant and dance-like, reflecting her ballet training. She is also headstrong and can be very powerful when cooperating with her teammates.
