Yumi Kakazu is a Japanese voice actress born on June 18, 1973, in Saitama Prefecture. She made her debut in 1996 as Sala Tyrell in the anime series After War Gundam X. Her career is distinguished by a wide range of roles across television animation, original video animations, feature films, and video games.

Kakazu is best known for her long-running role as Shizuka Minamoto, which she has portrayed since 2005 when she took over the part for the third generation of the Doraemon anime series. Her extensive work within the Doraemon franchise includes voicing Shizuka in numerous television episodes and theatrical films, such as Stand By Me Doraemon, Stand By Me Doraemon 2, Doraemon: Nobita’s New Dinosaur, and Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021.

Beyond Doraemon, her career includes a variety of notable anime roles. In the Initial D series, she voiced Sayuki across multiple installments, including the television series and the projects Initial D to the Next Stage - Project D e Mukete and Initial D: Extra Stage 2: Tabidachi no Green. She played Shizuka in the special 40-Shūnen da yo! Coro Coro All-Star Shōgakkō and the films Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Chikyū Symphony and Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari.
