Description
In a post-apocalyptic world, humanity faces constant threats from shadowy beings known as Shadow Angels, who seek to harvest human life force to sustain their own existence. The story unfolds in a future where Earth has been ravaged by the Great Catastrophe, leaving the planet divided into floating continents. To combat the Shadow Angels, humanity relies on advanced biomechanical mechas called Aquaria, which are piloted by a group of young individuals with unique abilities. These pilots are part of an organization called DEAVA, tasked with defending humanity and uncovering the mysteries of the Aquaria.
The narrative centers on Apollo, a carefree and impulsive young man with a mysterious past, who possesses extraordinary abilities tied to the legendary Solar Aquarion, a powerful mecha said to be the key to humanity's survival. Apollo's arrival at DEAVA coincides with increased attacks from the Shadow Angels, led by their enigmatic commander, Toma. As Apollo trains alongside other pilots, including the disciplined and reserved Silvia and her twin brother Sirius, tensions rise over his unorthodox methods and unpredictable nature. The series explores the dynamics between the pilots, their personal struggles, and their growing connection to the Aquaria, which are revealed to be more than mere machines.
The plot delves into themes of reincarnation, destiny, and the cyclical nature of conflict, as the characters uncover their past lives and their roles in an ancient war between humans and Shadow Angels. Apollo's journey is intertwined with the fate of the Solar Aquarion, which holds the power to unite or destroy both worlds. As the Shadow Angels escalate their attacks, the pilots must confront their fears, forge bonds, and unlock the true potential of the Aquaria to prevent humanity's extinction. The series balances action, drama, and philosophical undertones, culminating in a climactic battle that challenges the characters' understanding of their identities and the nature of their world.

Episodes
Staffel 1
1Memories of a Wing
Apollo steals food in the slums below Deava’s floating city. He evades guards using his exceptional sense of smell and agility. Above, pilot Silvia De Alisia launches her Vector machine against a sudden attack by a mythical Shadow Angel. Her unit suffers damage, and she ejects into the slums. Apollo finds her unconscious and carries her away from pursuing guards. The Shadow Angel descends, destroying large areas. Silvia wakes and orders Apollo to help her reach a second Vector stored nearby. Sirius De Alisia, Silvia’s brother and fellow pilot, arrives in the lead Vector and berates her for involving a civilian. The Angel attacks, forcing Sirius to engage alone. His attacks fail, and the Angel cripples his Vector. Apollo climbs into the second Vector and intuitively activates systems Silvia cannot. With Silvia in the rear seat, the two Vectors combine with Sirius’s unit into the mechanical being Aquarion. Apollo’s movements control the combined form, and he destroys the Angel with a single strike. Deava’s command observes that Apollo displays the sensory abilities of a legendary “Element” pilot. Silvia demands to know who Apollo is and why he can pilot. Apollo only states that he followed his nose. The military command orders Apollo detained for interrogation, while the defeat of the Angel confirms that Aquarion’s activation requires three specific pilots working in unity.
2The Reason for the Awakening
Apollo arrives at the DEAVA base and immediately clashes with Sirius, who views the newcomer as an intruder. Sylvia attempts to mediate but finds herself caught between Sirius’s hostility and Apollo’s impulsive behavior. Commander Fudo orders a synchronization test, forcing Apollo, Sirius, and Sylvia to pilot the three Vector machines together. The test fails repeatedly because Apollo refuses to follow Sirius’s commands and Sirius refuses to acknowledge Apollo’s instincts. A Shadow Angel attacks the city, and the three are deployed as the only available pilots. During the battle, Apollo ignores orders and directly engages the Angel, forcing Sirius and Sylvia to adapt. Their combined desperation triggers a spontaneous unification into Aquarion. Inside the merged machine, Apollo seizes control, shocking Sirius and Sylvia with his raw synchronization. They defeat the Angel, but the victory leaves Sirius humiliated and more determined to prove himself as the rightful pilot. After the battle, Fudo reveals that Apollo’s unusual compatibility may stem from a past life connection to the original Aquarion pilot, raising questions about Sirius’s own lineage and purpose. The episode closes with Sirius confronting Apollo in the hangar, demanding to know what he truly is.
3Element School
Apollo arrives at the DEAVA base and undergoes a skills assessment. He demonstrates raw physical ability but refuses to follow the standardized simulation protocols. Sirius,a senior Element pilot, challenges Apollo’s attitude and questions his suitability for the Aquarion. Commander Fudo introduces the synchronized training exercise where three pilots must merge their vectors to form the Aquarion. Apollo pairs with Sirius and Silvia, but their incompatible fighting styles cause the synchronization to fail repeatedly. Sirius insists on precise control while Apollo relies on instinct and sudden movement. During a live combat drill against a Shadow Angel, the unit becomes overwhelmed. Apollo breaks from the formation, forces his vector to combine with the others, and activates the Aquarion’s full form without formal synchronization. The unexpected merger defeats the angel but leaves Sirius and Silvia struggling to maintain control. After the battle, Fudo acknowledges Apollo’s potential but warns that his lack of discipline endangers the entire team. The episode closes with Apollo formally assigned as an Element, while Sirius’s resentment deepens over Apollo’s reckless methods.
4The Sound of Water
Silvia awakens from a dream in which her mother sinks into a body of water. Commander Fudo orders a training exercise to improve the pilots' synchronization. Apollo fails to maintain the required Element power output, causing the simulation to end prematurely. A Shadow Angel attacks the city, forcing the three pilots to sortie in the Vector machines. During the combination into Aquarion, Apollo’s reckless movements destabilize the merge. Sirius overrides Apollo’s controls to stabilize the robot. The Shadow Angel releases a sound-based weapon that disrupts the pilots’ concentration. Silvia recalls her mother’s drowning and begins to lose focus. Apollo shouts at her to listen to the water’s sound, a phrase her mother once said. Silvia regains her composure, and the three achieve a new unified state. Aquarion executes a coordinated attack that destroys the enemy. After the battle, Silvia confirms that Apollo’s words matched her mother’s exactly. The episode closes with the Shadow Angels deploying a larger force toward the city.
5Under the Starry Sky
The Deava military grants the Elements a day of leave, and they travel to a nearby city for its annual festival. Apollo, Sirius, and Reika separate from the main group, entering a series of competitive games where both men openly compete for Reika’s favor. Their rivalry sharpens when Sirius rebukes Apollo for recklessness, and Apollo dismisses Sirius’s rigid adherence to protocol. A Shadow Angel attacks the festival grounds, forcing the three to return to base and launch Aquarion. During the combination sequence, Sirius’s resentment toward Apollo disrupts the synchronization, causing the mecha to falter mid-assembly. Reika steps between them, insisting they subordinate their personal conflict to the immediate threat of civilian casualties. The three achieve synchronization and form Aquarion, executing a coordinated attack that drives the Shadow Angel back. After the battle, Reika confides to Apollo that she joined Deava to search for her missing brother, revealing a personal stake beyond duty. Sirius watches their exchange from a distance, his jealousy hardening into deeper suspicion of Apollo. Observing the pilots’ evolving cohesion, Shadow Angel commander Toma orders intensified surveillance on the team.
6Episode 6
DEAVA keeps Apollo in detention following the previous battle while the organization assesses his background. The other Elements select partners through rock-paper-scissors for a training exercise to develop long-distance thought attacks. Jun holds Rena’s hand for the first time to take aura measurements. A new Cherubim Soldier appears, demonstrating the ability to dodge Aquarion’s attacks. This Cherubim shows human-like behavior, laughing during combat. The Shadow Angel Toma controls this Cherubim from Atlandia, revealing that the Cherubim Soldiers serve as mere soldiers under his command. Toma claims a connection to Apollo’s previous life. The Cherubim’s evasive capabilities overwhelm the Elements, with Silvia suffering severe injuries during the engagement. Sirius blames Apollo for Silvia’s condition and attacks him. Apollo struggles to control his own high aura levels despite their raw power. He eventually activates Solar Aquarion’s special pursuit attack, which tracks and destroys the Cherubim regardless of its evasive movements. The victory exposes Toma’s role as a commander within the Shadow Angel hierarchy and establishes his personal interest in Apollo.
7The Forest of the Golden Butterfly
The Deava military detects a forest that has grown overnight and emits no life signs. Apollo,Silvia, and Pierre deploy in their vectors to investigate its origin. Inside, they encounter a young girl named Leona who claims to be lost and guides them deeper. The forest saps energy from their vectors, immobilizing Pierre when his machine runs dry. Apollo and Silvia pursue Leona on foot, and she reveals herself as a Shadow Angel using the forest to absorb their life force. Silvia hesitates to strike because Leona’s appearance reminds her of her missing brother. Apollo shouts that hesitation means death, forcing Silvia to engage. They synchronize their elements and form Aquarion, combining their attacks to destroy the forest and Leona. After the battle, Silvia admits she saw a reflection of her own isolation in Leona. Silvia resolves to fight without hesitation, though her unresolved feelings about her brother remain.
8Episode 8
The Deava colony celebrates the Spring Festival,a ritual that honors the union of sun and moon. Apollo and Silvia are selected to perform the Genesis Dance, a tradition requiring perfect synchronization between a male and female pilot. Toma, the leader of the Shadow Angels, launches an attack with a Cherubim-class foe during the ceremony. The assault forces the Deava pilots to scramble, but Apollo and Silvia struggle to combine into the Aquarion due to their mutual distrust. Their repeated failed attempts allow the enemy to inflict damage on the colony. Under pressure, they reluctantly begin the dance, which compels them to move in harmony. As they progress through the steps, their movements align, and the Aquarion finally forms. The combined machine engages the Cherubim, utilizing the dance’s motions to execute a coordinated attack. Silvia’s memories of a past life momentarily surface, revealing a connection to Apollo that transcends their current conflict. The enemy is destroyed, but the victory leaves Silvia questioning the nature of their bond. The episode concludes with the festival continuing, while Toma observes the pilots from afar, setting his sights on the newly awakened power.
9Yume no Arika
A shared dream traps Apollo,Silvia, and Sirius within separate visions that replay memories from their past incarnations. Apollo encounters a winged being who speaks of a destined union. Silvia faces a man who calls her by a name she does not recognize, hinting at a former life tied to the original Aquarion. Sirius watches a version of his sister who turns into a shadow, forcing him to acknowledge his buried resentment toward her. Outside the dream, the Deava crew detects a surge of dimensional energy and loses contact with the three pilots. Toma enters the dreamspace disguised as a guide and tries to convince Apollo to abandon the others, offering him the truth of his origins. Apollo rejects the offer and instead reaches out to Silvia and Sirius, pulling them into a single shared vision. In that space, they briefly synchronize their feelings and form a temporary union that shatters the dream barrier. They wake in their cockpits with no time having passed in the real world, yet each carries a stronger sense of the connection they share across lifetimes. The episode closes with a new Shadow Angel approaching the floating city, forcing the three pilots to launch immediately without time to process what they saw.
11The Door of the Netherworld
Shadow angel units infiltrate the Deava base undetected. One possesses Pierre, forcing him to attack his fellow pilots. Apollon, Sirius, and Silvia engage Pierre in their Vector machines, aiming to disable rather than destroy him. The possessed Pierre overpowers them and activates a mechanism that opens a gate to the netherworld. Apollon abandons his Vector to confront Pierre directly inside the base. He detects that the shadow angel feeds on negative emotions and uses his own ability to merge with the possessed pilot. Sirius and Silvia combine their Vectors with Apollon’s to form Aquarion, allowing them to enter the gate. Inside the netherworld, they face a massive shadow angel that attempts to consume their emotions. Apollon focuses on the bond between the pilots to stabilize Aquarion and seal the gate. The team successfully extracts Pierre and closes the portal. However, a shadow angel observes the base from a distance, indicating that the threat remains active.
12野望の迷宮
The Deava command dispatches Apollo,Silvia, Pierre, and Reika to an isolated ruin to retrieve a Vector machine. Upon entering, they become separated inside a shifting labyrinth controlled by Toma. Toma confronts Silvia and reveals his identity as her older brother, whom she believed lost. He triggers a trap that transforms Apollo into a winged dog, mirroring the form of Scilla, the loyal companion from Silvia’s past life. Toma explains that in the previous incarnation, Celiane, Silvia’s former self, loved the dog Scilla while rejecting him. He aims to force Silvia to accept that Apollo is merely that animal reborn, hoping to shatter her trust in him. Silvia resists the claim but hesitates when she sees Apollo’s dog-like behavior. Apollo, retaining his consciousness, fights to break the transformation and protect Silvia. Pierre and Reika work through the labyrinth’s mechanisms to assist from outside. Apollo reverts to human form after a violent struggle and confronts Toma directly, but Toma escapes with the Vector. The team returns to Deava with Silvia shaken by the encounter and the growing uncertainty about Apollo’s identity. Toma’s acquisition of the Vector sets the stage for a direct assault on the Deava forces, intensifying the personal and strategic conflict between the siblings.
13A Thousand Years of Love
Apollo,Sirius, and Silvia recover from the previous battle as the Deava command assesses Toma’s increasing tactical pressure. Toma launches a direct assault on the Deava base using a swarm of shadow angels, forcing the three pilots to sortie in the Aquarion. Apollo hesitates during the merger after learning he might carry the soul of the fallen angel, disrupting their synchronization. Sirius confronts Apollo on the battlefield, demanding he set aside personal doubt and focus on protecting Silvia. Silvia activates her own vector’s controls to stabilize the unstable combination, allowing the Aquarion to form in a new, more agile configuration. The united machine repels Toma’s initial attack, but he counters by exploiting the emotional bonds between the pilots. Toma reveals that he has pursued Celiane’s reincarnation for a thousand years and intends to claim Silvia as the key to his plan. He captures Sirius during the skirmish and withdraws, leaving Apollo and Silvia stranded outside the base. Apollo vows to retrieve Sirius, while Silvia confronts the possibility that her own past life ties her directly to Toma’s obsession. The episode ends with the Deava forces regrouping and preparing a rescue mission against an enemy now holding one of their primary pilots.
14Rain of Light
The Deava forces launch a sortie against a mythical beast whose luminous rain traps the three main pilots. Apollo,Sirius, and Silvia each fall into separate illusions that recreate painful memories. Apollo relives the death of the woman who raised him, facing his guilt for being unable to save her. Sirius sees his mother Reika, which reignites his anger over her abandonment and his resentment toward Apollo. Silvia witnesses a scene of her mother leaving, reinforcing her fear of being cast aside. The mythical beast feeds on the emotional turmoil from the three, drawing them deeper into their visions. Apollo breaks his illusion by accepting the past and physically calling out to the others. Their combined will summons the Aquarion, and they unite to form the machine. They destroy the beast with a coordinated vector attack, dispersing the rain. After the battle, the pilots return to base without resolving their personal conflicts, maintaining only a fragile operational truce. A new directive to secure additional elements arrives, signaling an escalation in the campaign against the shadow angels.
15Aquarion's First Love
Pierre Vieira learns that his former girlfriend Esperanza is about to marry another man. The news sends Pierre into a volatile emotional state, rendering him unfit to pilot Aquarion. Commander Fudo temporarily forbids Pierre from joining combat missions until he regains stability. Shadow Angels launch a sudden attack on Pierre's hometown, targeting his family and childhood friends. The remaining Elements deploy to defend the town but struggle against the enemy assault without Pierre's piloting skills. News of the battle and the danger to his loved ones reaches Pierre. He forces himself to set aside his personal anguish and confronts his emotional turmoil directly. Pierre rejoins the battle, taking his position in Aquarion to shield his hometown. His presence turns the tide, allowing the team to repel the Shadow Angel forces. After the battle, Pierre demonstrates renewed composure, having chosen duty and protection over heartbreak. The immediate threat subsides, but the Shadow Angels remain a persistent danger, leaving the team to prepare for the next confrontation.
16Black Mirror
Tsugumi notices bite marks on Jun’s neck while watching a vampire movie, and Reika observes similar marks on Tsugumi. The following day, both Tsugumi and Jun collapse from exhaustion during class, with Jun losing consciousness. After recovering, they recall that Rena recently sucked blood from their wounds. Rena overhears their insensitive remarks and flees. Silvia pursues Rena and finds her singing in the garden; Apollo also encounters her there, but Rena rides away. Later that night, Silvia searches Rena’s room and discovers an old photograph, but Rena catches her. A Shadow Angel resembling a vampire attacks, and the Elements merge into Solar Aquarion to fight it. The vampire drains the mecha’s energy, weakening Rena. Apollo offers his neck to Rena, and when she bites him, the surge of power repels the vampire and empowers Aquarion. Rena takes control of Aquarion and uses a piece of debris as a stake to impale and destroy the vampire. After the battle, the Elements apologize to each other, and Tsugumi accuses Silvia of jealousy over Apollo and Rena, which Silvia blushes and denies. The immediate consequence is a restored trust among the group, but Silvia’s unresolved feelings toward Apollo hint at future tensions.
17Pride and the Beast
The Deava forces deploy against a Shadow Angel that emits a disorienting sonic wave. Apollo charges ahead alone, ignoring Sirius’s call for a coordinated formation. The Angel’s attack scrambles the pilots’ mental synchronization, forcing Aquarion to separate into its three vectors. Apollo watches Sirius and Silvia achieve a stable merge without him, his frustration building. When the Angel captures Silvia, Apollo forces a solo merge, triggering Aquarion’s berserker mode. The uncontrolled mecha swings its limbs wildly, striking the landscape and threatening to crush Silvia inside the Angel’s grip. Sirius boards the rampaging Aquarion alone, climbing through the internal access ways to reach Apollo’s cockpit. He seizes Apollo by the collar and accuses him of letting pride override all tactical sense and concern for the team. Apollo’s instinct to fight alone, Sirius argues, makes him a danger to everyone who must compensate for his recklessness. Silvia’s voice cuts through the chaos from inside the Angel, calling out to Apollo and reaffirming their connection. The three pilots re-establish synchronization, regaining control of Aquarion and destroying the Angel in a coordinated strike. After the battle, Sirius stares at Apollo in silence, his trust in his fellow pilot now openly uncertain.
18Episode 18
Apollo and Silvia attempt a new combination attack during a training exercise, but Reika struggles to synchronize with them. Reika withdraws from practice, convinced her feelings for Apollo disrupt the Element system. Silvia confronts Reika and questions whether personal emotions have any place in piloting. Toma observes from a distance and manipulates a fallen angel soldier to attack the city, forcing the three pilots into battle. During the fight, Reika hesitates when she sees Apollo protect Silvia, and the Aquarion separates under enemy fire. The enemy captures Reika inside a crystalline barrier and begins extracting her memories. Apollo breaks through the barrier alone, but Reika, absorbed in memories of her past with Apollo, does not initially respond. Silvia enters the barrier and tells Reika that erasing her feelings would weaken all of them as pilots. Reika resolves to fight alongside them, and the three combine into Aquarion with a new level of synchronization. They destroy the enemy, but Toma retreats after noting the emotional bonds among the pilots remain intact. Silvia privately acknowledges her own growing attachment to Apollo. Reika decides to continue piloting without suppressing her feelings. The episode closes with a damaged enemy warship approaching the main base, setting up an immediate defensive confrontation.
19The One Who Sleeps in the Moon
The Deava fleet tracks a massive tree that has erupted from the ruins of Atlantis, its barrier deflecting all long-range bombardment. Apollo, Silvia, and Sirius launch in their Vector machines to penetrate the barrier manually. Inside the tree’s hollow core, they find a woman suspended in a light cocoon; Silvia identifies her as the figure from her prophetic dreams. Apollo reaches out and touches the cocoon, causing a resonance that forcibly combines the three Vectors into an unprecedented form: the Aquarion Solar. This new configuration generates enough power to shatter the tree’s barrier and strike its central energy source. Toma materializes and declares that the woman is Celiane, the original soul whose reincarnations are Silvia and Sirius. He reveals that the Tree of Life functions as a mechanism to restore Celiane’s complete memories, intending to make her choose between him and the spirit of Apollonius carried by Apollo. As the Deava team hesitates, the tree detaches from the ground and ascends toward the moon, taking the cocooned Celiane with it. Commander Kusanagi orders an immediate pursuit, while Apollo fixates on the moon, now identified as the final stage of Toma’s plan.
20Kuroi Yume
A Cherubim traps Apollo,Sirius, and Reika inside separate dream worlds that manifest their deepest desires and suppressed memories. Apollo dreams of living as the Shadow Angel Apollonius, witnessing his comrades turn against him and experiencing the betrayal that led to his original death. Sirius dreams of a life with Reika where Apollo never existed, a scenario that offers him the love and recognition he craves but requires him to abandon his identity. Reika dreams of her past incarnation as Celiane, reliving the moment she chose Apollonius over the Shadow Angels and the guilt that followed. Each pilot confronts the illusion’s promise of fulfillment: Apollo rejects the false reality by asserting his own name and will, shattering the dream. Sirius chooses to end his dream despite its appeal, recognizing that accepting it would erase his genuine struggles and bonds. Reika awakens by accepting her present responsibilities rather than dwelling on past failures. The three combine Aquarion through a synchronized rejection of the dreams, destroying the Cherubim with a unified attack. After the battle, Sirius’s jealousy toward Apollo intensifies, while Reika resolves to mediate between them to prevent further division. The Shadow Angels immediately retaliate by launching a massive assault on Deava’s main base, forcing the pilots to engage again without resolving their internal conflicts.
21Kiss
Amata's team returns from Altair without Mix,who remains transformed under the curse. Shrade's physical condition worsens as he pushes himself toward a fatal fusion to complete his musical composition. Amata, disturbed by a nightmare where Kagura merges with him and pursues Mikono, flees to the city where he first met Mikono. Zessica and Cayenne receive orders to retrieve Amata and locate him in the abandoned town. Inside the theater where Amata and Mikono first met, Zessica attempts to confess her feelings when an Abductor attacks and collapses the roof. During the escape, falling rubble traps Zessica's legs, and she tells Amata to leave her behind. Amata refuses to abandon her, and Zessica kisses him, triggering his elemental power and sending him flying upward as she pushes him away. The Abductor strikes the area where Zessica lies, seemingly crushing her. Amata flies back toward the site but encounters Kagura instead. For the first time, both recognize each other as the other half of a single existence. Meanwhile, Shrade and Sazanka initiate a sacrificial fusion to confront the threat, with Shrade accepting his potential death to repay his debts. The revelation that Amata and Kagura are one being splits into two forces establishes a new confrontation between the two halves of the same soul.
22Wings Unseen
Sirius defects to Toma's side, leaving Reika and Silvia to grapple with the emotional fallout of his betrayal. Silvia, asleep, hears her brother's voice, and his hand emerges from her wristband to take hers. Apollo crashes through the window, interrupting the contact, and the retreating hand leaves behind a red feather he immediately recognizes. Sirius returns to their world piloting the Vector Mars, and Reika and Apollo launch to intercept him. Sirius shoots Reika down and then merges his Vector with a Cherub to form the Cherubim Mars, striking Apollo down with a single sword thrust. Sirius begins assaulting DEAVA's shield, but three unidentified Vector machines suddenly appear. The new machines combine to form a distinct Aquarion, with Glen revealed as its pilot. Glen appears lifeless, a consequence of being fused with the feathers harvested from Futaba, indicating the new United Nations military has developed its own mecha. The emergence of this third faction introduces a new military power with its own agenda, distinct from both DEAVA and the Shadow Angels. The immediate consequence is a fractured battlefield where Glen's transformed state and the UN's intervention create unpredictable new threats for Apollo and the others.
23The Bell That Rings in the Void
Toma recounts his past as a human scholar who served the ancient city of Atlantia. He witnessed Apollonius and Celiane’s bond and allowed jealousy to consume him. A Shadow Angel named Fornax transforms Toma into a winged being after he sacrifices his humanity. In the present,Toma pilots a black mecha modeled after the Aquarion and attacks the Deava forces. He captures Silvia by using a bell sound that paralyzes her mind, claiming she is Celiane’s reincarnation meant for him. Apollo merges with the Aquarion and pursues Toma, experiencing vivid flashbacks of Apollonius’s memories. The Aquarion’s vector machines separate during the battle, leaving Apollo alone to confront Toma in close combat. Toma reveals his intention to break the cycle of reincarnation by erasing Apollonius’s soul from existence. Apollo refuses to yield and activates the Aquarion’s combined form using only his own vector, momentarily overpowering Toma. Silvia breaks free from the paralysis and rejoins Sirius, allowing the three vectors to reunite fully. The unified Aquarion lands a decisive strike that forces Toma to retreat with his damaged mecha. Toma’s defeat solidifies his determination to destroy Apollonius’s lineage, setting the stage for a direct clash over the fate of the reincarnated souls.
24Apostle of the Wasteland
Toma confronts Apollo,Silvia, and Sirius inside the ruins of Atlantis, revealing his existence as a Shadow Angel who once served the fallen Celiane. He declares his intention to reclaim Celiane’s soul, which he identifies as residing within Silvia and Sirius. Apollo, Silvia, and Sirius launch Aquarion to engage Toma, but he counters by deploying his own mechanized angel and disrupting their synchronization with psychic pressure. Toma separates the pilots, forcing Apollo to fight alone while Silvia and Sirius struggle to reconnect their Elements. During the battle, Toma projects memories of his past with Celiane, showing his original devotion and the moment she chose a human lover, solidifying his hatred for humanity. The psychic assault causes Silvia to experience Celiane’s memories directly, blurring her sense of self. Apollo, refusing to abandon Silvia, reaches through the mental interference and physically reunites with her, triggering Aquarion to evolve into a new, more powerful form. The evolved Aquarion overwhelms Toma’s angel, forcing him to retreat but not before he vows to destroy the pilots’ emotional bonds. Silvia emerges from the experience shaken but more aware of her past-life connection to Celiane and her growing reliance on Apollo. The episode closes with the Deava forces preparing for a final confrontation as Toma regroups, promising to tear apart the very feelings that empower Aquarion.
25Episode 25
The Deava forces engage the Shadow Angels in a direct assault. Sirius pilots the Aquarion alone, seeking to eliminate Apollo, whom he now views as a usurper. Apollo intercepts the Aquarion mid-battle and forces entry, reasserting his role as the Sun Wing. The internal conflict between the two pilots destabilizes the machine, allowing the Shadow Angels to strike the main Deava fleet. Toma descends from the orbital ring and reveals the true nature of the war: he intends to resurrect the original Apollonius using Apollo’s body as a vessel. Sirius, realizing his rivalry was engineered to weaken humanity’s defense, redirects his anger toward Toma. Apollo refuses to become a sacrifice and merges his will with the Aquarion, unlocking a transformation that temporarily repels the enemy forces. The Tree of Life begins to sprout from the ruins of the Deava base, responding directly to Apollo’s resolve. Toma retreats to the orbital ring, announcing the final phase of his plan will commence within hours. The surviving Deava pilots prepare for a last strike, knowing the next battle will decide the fate of both humanity and the fallen angel’s ambitions.
26Aquarion
Apollo and Sirius pilot the two Aquerions into a final confrontation with Touma. Touma, leader of the Shadow Angels, seeks to merge with Silvia to reclaim his lost love, Celian. Apollo refuses to allow Silvia to become Touma’s vessel. Sirius, who previously allied with the Shadow Angels, rejoins Apollo’s side after recognizing Touma’s manipulation. The two brothers combine the Solar Aquarion and the Shadow Aquarion into a single unified machine. Touma uses the Tree of Life to amplify his power, forcing the combined Aquarion to pierce its core. Apollo enters the Tree of Life alone to confront Touma directly. Inside, Touma reveals his millennia-long grief for the original Celian. Apollo absorbs Touma’s despair instead of destroying him, taking the burden upon himself. The Tree of Life collapses, and Apollo vanishes. Silvia senses Apollo’s presence fading, and she and Sirius mourn his apparent death. The Shadow Angels retreat, and Earth avoids immediate destruction. In the aftermath, DEAVA members gather, and a young boy appears bearing Apollo’s memories and his connection to Silvia. Silvia recognizes the boy as Apollo reborn without his past burdens. The reincarnation cycle that defines the series continues, setting the stage for renewed conflicts and relationships as Silvia, the reborn Apollo, and the others begin a new chapter.
