Sakiko Tamagawa is a veteran Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer born on January 20, 1962, in Tokyo, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Sigma Seven. Her career in the entertainment industry began at a young age; she started as a child actress with the Koubai Troupe and appeared in NHK radio dramas and taiga dramas, winning the童謡賞 (Children's Song Award) at the 12th Japan Record Awards in 1970. Her voice acting debut came in 1981 with the anime Fuusen no Doratarou.

Over the course of a prolific career spanning more than four decades, Tamagawa has portrayed a wide array of characters. She is well-known for her long-running role as Natsumi Tsujimoto in the You're Under Arrest series. Another iconic role is providing the voice for the Tachikoma thinking tanks in the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series, including Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. She has also voiced significant characters such as Princess Kakyuu in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, Mariko Shinobu in Dear Brother, Pirotess in Record of Lodoss War, and Juiz in Eden of the East.

Tamagawa has taken on many other notable roles across various franchises. These include Airi Masaki in the Tenchi Muyo! series, Kazama's mother in Crayon Shin-chan, Akemi Miyano in Detective Conan, and various roles in the Kaiketsu Zorori franchise, including Zorori's mother. Her filmography also features parts in Blue Seed as Sakura Yamazaki, Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko as Rouge, NG Knight Ramune & 40 as Cocoa, and Fafner as Ayano Kondou. She has also voiced Athena in the Appleseed XIII series and Lime in Jewel BEM Hunter Lime.

Throughout her career, Tamagawa has been credited under a few different names. Her birth name and current stage name is Sakiko Tamagawa (玉川砂記子). For a period, she used the stage name Sakiko Tamagawa (玉川紗己子) before reverting to her original kanji in 2010. She is married to fellow prominent voice actor Shuichi Ikeda, known for his role as Char Aznable in the Gundam series, and has taken his surname privately as Sakiko Ikeda. An interesting piece of trivia noted by fans is that in Detective Conan, her character Akemi Miyano and her husband's character, Shuichi Akai, are depicted as having been in a relationship.
