TV-Series
Description
Jasmine is a middle-aged Norma who runs the bustling marketplace known as Jasmine Mall within the military base of Arzenal. She is a woman with brown hair and purple eyes, and she is rarely seen without her loyal canine companion, a dog named Vulcan, by her side. On the surface, she presents herself as a shrewd and greedy businesswoman, known for charging unfairly high prices for the various goods she acquires through her own secret trade routes. Her wares are incredibly diverse, ranging from everyday necessities like bras to more eccentric items; she is known to provide reliable售后服务, or after-sales service, on all her products, which helps maintain a steady customer base despite her high prices.
Beneath this tough and money-minded exterior, Jasmine possesses a deep-seated care for her fellow Norma. She strongly believes it is unjust that they are forced to live only as weapons to fight against the DRAGONs, and this underlying compassion often surfaces in her actions and advice. She is a long-time resident of Arzenal and has a history that stretches back much further than her current role as a merchant suggests. In her younger days, Jasmine was the Commander-in-Chief of Arzenal, a position she held with a charismatic and serious demeanor very different from her later persona. This past experience makes her one of the most knowledgeable and informed individuals within the base's top command.
Jasmine's motivations are complex, driving her to play a role far more significant than that of a simple shopkeeper. She is secretly one of a few key individuals who are fully aware of the Libertus, a grand plan aimed at the liberation of all Norma. In this capacity, she acts as the primary point of contact for Tusk, an ally operating outside of Arzenal. Her role in the story evolves from a supporting merchant to a pivotal co-conspirator. She uses her mall as a hub for information, is responsible for the conception and maintenance of Commander Jill's artificial arm, and even prepares tombstones for fallen mail-riders. When the base comes under attack, she is instrumental in the evacuation efforts and is later seen aboard the submarine Aurora with the other survivors.
Her relationships with other characters are defined by her unique blend of pragmatism and hidden loyalty. She has a particularly complex dynamic with Jill, supporting her plan while sometimes questioning her harsh methods. She offers blunt advice to the protagonist, Ange, such as when she tries to lecture her about the consequences of alienating her peers, lessons born from her own vast experience. Her maternal and serious side is revealed when she openly scolds Jill for her poor treatment of Salia, suggesting that a kinder approach might have prevented Salia's eventual betrayal. She is also the one who discovered Salia's secret hobby, proving she keeps a close watch on everyone under her care.
Throughout the series, Jasmine shows considerable development as her true nature and history are gradually revealed. While initially appearing as a comedic and greedy side character, she is eventually shown in flashbacks to be a capable, charismatic, and serious commander. This revelation reframes her later behavior as a calculated front rather than a simple personality flaw. Her development culminates when she finally confronts Jill directly about her ideology and, after taking command of the Aurora, begins to lead the survivors herself once more. Jasmine's notable abilities extend beyond her mechanical and maintenance skills, which are crucial for keeping equipment like Jill's arm functional. She is also a master of logistics and survival, having learned how to navigate the horrors of Arzenal from a young age. This makes her not just a merchant, but a super-veteran rider and a strategic mind who was the originator of the Libertus plan in its earliest days.
