Gianluca Iacono is an Italian voice actor born in Turin on March 14, 1970, with a career spanning over three decades in dubbing, theater, and television. He began his artistic path in the 1980s, initially focusing on theater before moving into voice work. From 1992 to 1997, he was part of a comedic duo with colleague Vanessa Giuliani, performing theatrical shows and winning the National Cabaret Festival in Modena in 1996. Since the year 2000, he has been based in Milan, where he also teaches dubbing.
Iacono is most widely recognized for being the primary Italian voice of the character Vegeta from the Dragon Ball franchise, a role he was selected for in 1997 by Paolo Torrisi and has continued to voice through various series and films, including Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, and the movies Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. His other prominent anime roles include Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia and its related films and specials, Ryu in Shaman King, and Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He has also contributed voices to a vast array of other animated series, such as providing voices for multiple characters in One Piece, portraying Kakashi Hatake in Naruto: Shippuden, and voicing roles in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and Saint Seiya, among many others.
