Kureha Misaki is an 18-year-old Japanese woman, 162 cm tall, weighing 42 kg, with body measurements of 93-54-84 cm and blood type A. Orphaned young, her father died in a Ghoul attack at Watcher's Nest and her mother passed away under unknown circumstances; she was raised by relatives. Facing Earth's limited economic opportunities, she enlisted in the military at 18. Despite pronounced clumsiness, physical ineptitude, and initial training struggles, she was chosen as an elite Seraphim cadet, a selection tied to her concealed nature. Her cheerful personality boosted comrades' morale, though klutziness plagued her daily life. She enjoys cooking and eating noodles. Genetically, Misaki is a human-Ghoul hybrid resulting from experimentation, her father being a test subject for artificial Ghoul genes. This heritage grants latent abilities that surface under extreme stress or danger: she transforms into a Ghoul-like entity with combat skills surpassing ordinary pilots, exhibits extraordinary prognostication, and manipulates time involuntarily. After her initial deployment, she became entangled in temporal disruptions centered on Watcher's Nest. Driven by grief over Luxandra Frail's death and Suzanna Bluestein’s memory erasure, she repeatedly attempts to alter key points in Japan's past to prevent their losses. These efforts inadvertently trigger Ghoul incursions throughout history, making her the catalyst for many conflicts. During this time-manipulation phase, she appears primarily as a translucent apparition resembling her younger self in a yellow dress, observed across different eras. Her spectral form matures from childhood through adolescence to adulthood alongside her emotional development. She interacts directly with allies like Lyar von Ertiana and Kiri Marialate, acknowledging her role in the distortions yet persisting in her mission. Her journey includes visiting a past where her father was alive shortly before his departure to Watcher's Nest. Her arc culminates in a confrontation with the antagonist LeBlanc within the ruins of the Quantum Core, where she sacrifices her physical existence to sever the Ghoul threat. Afterward, she exists non-corporeally, materializing years later at Watcher's Nest to reunite with Lyar and affirm her survival.
